I've been wanting to mod my pulsar badly. Thought of changing the headlight cowl and after viewing these pics I think the tank shroud is also an excellent idea. Question is where (in S'pore) can you do such mods?

 

I've been looking for a suitable headlight cowl and settled on the one used for Honda NX4 Falcon. Problem is the shop doesn't know if it'll fit Pulsar.

 

Does anyone here know a good place where mods can be done (in Sg)? I've tried both MotorWorld, LAB as well as UM.

We will be purchasing VHT high temp Spray to spray our exhaust back to it shine again. Also we be sharing cost, estimate about 3 person to a can of VHT. Before anything to be confirm, we need to know how many rider is actually interested in doing it.

I need to noe whose UG3 has alarm being installed and r intending to install alarm.

Bcos UG3 as i encountered b4, if the engine is cranked b4 the digital meter finishes 1 rd the trip meter MAY sometimes reset automatically.

Hence i have integrated the current timer system into a smaller than half a lighter size black box which will delay the engine cranking if remote start is used.

This timer system is NOT definitely needed but i would say it is important to have it.

 

The first prototype is finally out and i need to see how many of u pple out there needs it as the IC im using is not avaliable outside except in my wkplace and will rush to finish all the needed pieces by end of this month if possible. Those bros that r proposing to have their alarm installed by me will also need to buy the timer system(TS), price will be confirmed once i fit everything into the first black box.

1 month WARRANTY will be give for the TS so no worries.

 

i need ur help to list below who is intending to install alarm with REMOTE START for UG3 ONLY by me(lindavw).

VHT stands for Very High Temperature. :D

 

Means it can withstand high temperature up to what is specified on the spray can.

 

Your exhaust will still be black after spraying. A nice clean black. :thumb:

anyway i'm one of the few brothers here on K&N filter... well since its an open pod set up, i also make a CAI set up too... and to my suprise the respond is a great different. i'm not making up stories, since the respond haas proven, i try on my top speed while on the way back from JB to sengkang, to my suprise i was riding at 120km/h and that without full throttle and i was at up right position. and i believe my bike can push for more. maybe its 'safer' to try out at 2nd link rather than singapore expressway. hee. but i'm very impress...

 

as for now, anyone know where i can get k&N kit.. my filter change color liao. and dried-up...

most of after market head cowling needs additional bracket. singaporean mechanic susah lah to help you unless they so free or no business.. than they'll do.. or any of your regular mechanic can help you.. to me the best place to do all this mod is in JB.. and they will charge you maybe RM15-RM30 only....

 

in the past i customise my side box braket, he only charge me RM30.. you tink Singapore side will charge you S$14?:angel:

Where can this be done? Is dismantling the exhaust required?

 

You can get shops to do for you, they will charge a fee dunno how much.

 

Or you can do it yourself.

 

You do it with exhaust on bike or take it out.

 

It depends on how much effort you are will to put into respraying the exhaust.

 

If you have time and tools, can always do it yourself.

 

You need to get sandpaper to remove the rust first. If you got time you can also remove the old paint.

 

When spraying paint, many thin layers is better than few thick layers.

 

Just remember, sometime down the road you will need to respray again.

guys... i jus got my pulsar home yesterday.. got a few things to ask...

 

1. u guys have the user manual? the shop din give me anything.

2. how u guys run in (i have been riding like normal as in changing gear at 5k - 6k rpm and cruise at 80 on hw). im not sure if this is right and recommended. please enlightent me.

3. this is 2nd day, today i went jb, when came back i can see the rpm on idling are higher now... almost 2k :-S... anyone have this issue? yesterday was only 1k all the way..

4. wats ur normal speed and at wat rpm u guys change gear :)..

urs is 200 or 180? running in i think cannot exceed 65km/h?

manual 180 ug3 i have in softcopy.

if new bike the rpm goes up after running for a long while is normal cos not season yet. ideal is 1.3k rpm

i change gear at 5k if overtaking or fast pick up > than 5k

anyway my normal travelling speed is around 70-80km/h and change gear around 6.5k rpm. i need to drag till 7-8k to be able to hit above 90.

For new bikes, during run-in, do not stay at a constant rpm from long distance. You will risk glazing the piston rings.

 

Vary your rpm as much as possible, keeping it to max run-in rpm specified in the manual.

 

Go through each gear covering as much of the recommended rpm as possible to help the piston rings to seat properly.

Hi Guys, some stupid questions to ask....

 

1) How to remove chain guard? In order to clean inside.... Since mech lubed e chain...oil was splashing over the rear tyre and other surfaces...But not much lah.... Like to know how to remove and clean up the interior...

 

2) If i were to change the chain guard to an open one... does it void warranty?

wah this few days i ride very hard to kick gear down . the feeling like can kick down but the gear wont go down . must stop kick lever hard then will go down. kick up gear no problem

 

anyone here with exp know why ? , is it my engine oil time to change? i change my engine oil abt 1 mth ago.

i had that problem before. was becuase the internal shifter got worn out.

 

costed me 25 dollars for that part. this does not include price of service and gasket.
