damaged, my documents are all in a mess, our good friend said he'll help me do, then now found out like nothing done n he run away. bike shop also avoiding me, still owe me my docs n they not giving back.

Hi Guys,

 

I have finally got my pulsar 180. It is 2006 Oct model about 30k kms. I got it for 1.5k.

 

It still has 6.5 years COE left and COE premium initially paid was 1001$

And the bike's OMV is 1375$

So the bike is worth 1375(OMV)+ 650(COE) = 2k

 

Please let me know if it is a good deal.

 

Another thing I noticed is Pulsar has very low OMV compared to phantom.

A phantom that is 6 years old has OMV of 3.5k whereas Pulsar 180 that is about 3.5 year old has about 1.5k OMV

Why so much difference?

u wan original? go prides-online. ders some bellypans for pulsars from Indonesia which fitted so perfectly.

Open Market Value commonly known/referred as OMV in SG.

 

OMV is in layman terms, simply means how much does it cost to bring your vehicle into SG WITHOUT TOUCHING THE ROAD, which means how much ur vehicle is valued.

 

In non layman terms, the amount dictated is based on the price actually paid or payable for the goods when sold for export to the country of importation. This price is assessed by the Singapore Customs, which includes purchase price, freight, insurance and all other charges incidental to the sale and delivery of the motorcycle/car to Singapore.

 

OMVs differs between makes/ccs & it does not include vehicle taxes (AF, ARF, etc. In the case of motorcycles :-

 

Registration Fee (RF) = $140

Additional Registration Fee (ARF) = 15% of OMV

Excise Duty =12% of OMV

"Is a high OMV good or bad?"

 

High OMV is good.. only when i was before May 2002. Why? Coz the PARF value (% of OMV, commonly known as re-bate) when scrapping cars was still up to 80% of OMV even after 8 years!

 

So you get back a large amount of $$ when your scrap your vehicle.

 

But after May 2002, they restructured (in an effort to reduce many environmental & economic factors) such that its like 50%? So if u had a high OMV car before the restructuring, good luck coz you can't sell it at what is was valued at. i.e. you lugi alot..

Monday dated today, no CCA at school.

Still raining and nothing to do so...

start my bike and off i go...

down to HKL Racing at Bt Merah to look for S4 belly pan and rear hugger.

Meet the mech Ah Soon and asked him whether they got what I wanted... he said have but not sure can fit.

So I told him in Indonesia pulsar everything CAN DO and if Malaysia Boleh too ... here Singapore lagi Boleh. hehehe

He smile and said if I ok he lagi ok ... nice chap.

so after look see look see .. he did it.

Took him 3 and half hours of drilling and cutting ..

One mech with a smile after looking at my bike said ... "You are the first pulsar rider here to install the rear hugger and give a :thumb:"

hmmm not sure whether it's true or not ... hahaha lol

 

total cost inclusive labour is $180 ...

S4 belly pan is $85 and

S4 rear hugger is $95

 

yes...can say expensive but looking at him do the hard job since I have no right tools and the time to DIY myself and looking at my bike ... hmm I said its worth my time and effort.

 

Later the Boss Benny Tan came in and gave me his name card together with 1helmet bag, a HKL Tshirt and a small towel as a token of appreaciation..

 

Last before I make way for home... he tab my shoulder and said to look for him or Ah Soon if I visits them again... hehehe ...

I thought i wanna post my short story dated today but when i saw yours i no mood to post already ...your bellypan so super duper looper cooper freaking niceeeeeeeeee laaaaaaaaa brotherrrr!! .....if transfer to my bike confirm lagi super duper looper cooper WINNER laaa..coz the color matching with mine laa!!!!..so..can transfer or not? hehehe...nvm..i know where u park ur bike...i hired some professional-Ocean 11/12/13 qualified vehicle thief to disable your alarm and loot away your hugger and bellypan! wahahahahaa..why never tell me you goin hunting for it sehh? ..hehe...

 

On a serious note..they still have the bellypan and hugger? did u tell them that maybe u will intro other pulsarians to make their's there?
