I have already reduce mine to 1.2-1.5k but the problem is that my engine sometime will die off then start again will die off again unless rev lightly for awhile..

if your bike is experiencing random dying off when it's still cold and not warmed up yet, check the idle air/fuel mix screw. it increases the amount of fuel+air bypassing the throttle plate during idle operation. on the bike, sitting on the seat, it's on the left side of the carb. it's a brass-coloured screw, might be very dirty-looking already.

 

if you know where your throttle-stop (aka idle-speed screw) is, it's just slightly in front. about 1-2cm forward. right where the bottom of the carb is connected to the top. it's recessed into the throttle body.

 

to adjust

 

1) warm up bike

 

2) set idle to recommended setting

 

3) turn the screw in until the engine starts to stumble. this reduces the a/f mix going in at idle, creating lean condition

 

4) turn the screw out while counting number of turns until the engine starts to stumble again. this increases the a/f mix going in at idle, creating rich conditions.

 

* at the mid-point, the idle should speed up smoothly.

 

5) halve the number of turns and set it at that.

 

* to help on cold days, set it slightly on the richer side. fuel doesn't vaporise as easily when cold, therefore doesn't burn as well.

 

Note: The screw should turn pretty easily. If it's taking you anything more than finger strength, you're getting the wrong one! Also, don't turn the screw at the bottom of the carb, that one drains the fuel from your carb out the overflow.

when you last bought the plugs? ...

I went there and was told no platinum plug so I bought the copper one CPR8** slightly higher than UM stock CPR6** ... it's the day I organised teh tarik at AMK.

The next day I went to AB to get the CR8EGP platinum plug after Cookie told me that he got his at AB.

 

After bought it I check the tip on both plugs and found it different from each type..

 

you can check the tip here (click on view tip of each plugs) and confirm it with yours whether it is the same or not.

Bro Cookie ... not sure about yours... maybe the packaging different and yes when I read @ Prides forum, some of them did mentioning about your plug type. But you can check the tip to confirm whether it's a standard or G Power Platinum.

 

CR9EGP or CR8EGP has finer tip compared to the standard one which is flat.

no lah. wanted to sell due to some probs.. but thought it was still ok. Then prob got worse and decided not to sell cause won't be safe for next rider. I sent for overhaul better..
