The new passport for Singaporeans has a biometric chip which you can just use to scan instead of chop..

the singapore side always scan if u use the biometric passport. its the malaysian side that chops.

Oh Ok. I thought there is some kind of electronic card for frequent visitors to Malaysia. There are many people who stay in JB and work in Singapore and travel to and fro daily. I think they dont need to get their passport stamped everytime. I am not sure though, I just read it somewhere.

yea u need to pay a fee annually. forgot how much is it already

there is this card

you need to apply from the malaysia side

but before you can apply you need to show the malaysia side that you enter malaysia at least 4 times in the last month

the card works like that singapore biometric passport

just need to scan

but on the singapore side you still need your passport to clear the singapore customs

hey Gaban, could u give me a list of problems with ur bike when u travelled to thailand and came back. Is it due to the constant high speed travelling at 90km/h to 100km/h?

I was reading the posts abt the time u went to thailand with nemesis and a few others. did anything happen to nemesis's bike?

Cos i maybe planning a trip next year jan or sth. just want to know more information first. dun wan to spend alot of money overhauling my bike if there's too much problem involved.

you may want to consider going for short trips to first

hi guys.

Im new here, been riding my beloved wife for about 7 mths n i love my bike from performance to looks to everything... except the mirrors.

they even vibrate more den a vibrator.

any cheap n good mirrors that wun vibrate even at 70-90kmh?

my maximum budget is around 20bucks (1 pair)

as im a student n workin part time.

thanks all for help!

Pulsar stock mirrors are the best mirrors of all to use than most aftermarket mirrors. It only vibrates a little even if u go 115 - 120 km/h and notice only the right mirror vibrates because of the throttle placement. Ive tested it with my KOSO mirror. Yesterday i just found out from a friend that KOSO mirrors are to be sold together with its necessary tools and an adapter too for compatibilty issues with various bikes but i dont have it for my case when i bought it.

Your best bet is the stock mirrors..if the mirrors vibrate a lot on average speed then check the screws..tighten when necessary..if tighten then loose back then check the threadings of the screws.

Hope i get my point right

Spent 120$ for a new EK gold chain. Don't know whether it was required/worth it or not, just got it for my peace of mind.

Anyways, anyone up for an unofficial coffee meet-up tomorrow evening at 9 p.m.?

MJ - will see you there tomorrow then.

I asked the shop for a black chain and he said he doesn't have. And "supposedly" a gold chain is stronger than a black one, so I didn't argue. I find a gold chain extremely ugly - but I don't give a damn about looks.

Anyways, this is the problem I had(hopefully past!). Just sharing in case they might help someone else.

Basically for the past 4 days or so, my chain was extremely noisy. It was very loose, and when I look at the O part of the O-rings they are not in line. It was well lubricated though. And at all speeds above 20, I feel as if there is something stopping my rear wheel - like the friction on my rear wheel is more than that on the front wheel, or like my rear brakes are always applied. Now I don't know whether this problem is because of the chain, but according to my friend and the mechanic, it is. I asked him to check the wheel alignment and rear brakes as well but according to him they are fine and the chain is the problem.

The Truth about Motorcycle Chains!

"This page is designed to help clear-up some misconceptions some people have about Motorcycle Chains! We’ve been in business for over 21 years and we have no intent to mislead you, but to hopefully give you a better understanding of Motorcycle Chains & hope you’ll find this information informative in selecting the proper chain for your needs without all the “B.S” that you may have heard or read elsewhere!"...

http://www.quality-cycle.com/truth_about_motorcycle_chains.htm

Fact #1

Did you know that any “Quality” motorcycle chain with a Tensile Strength of between 8,000lbs to 9,500lbs is more than strong enough to withstand the power output of almost any size bike made today!

Fact #2

Did you know that most Chain Manufacturers “Guidelines” are really set by the number of different models they offer & not what size the maximum engine size that chain should be used on!!!

Examples: The Regina 530 ORS2 O-Ring Chain is recommended for bikes up to 750cc.....yet it only has a Tensile Strength of only 7,640lbs.

The Tsubaki 530 OMEGA O-Ring chain is recommended for bikes up to 1,000cc, even though it has less than 7,800lbs Tensile Strength!

But the RK KS Series Performance Heavy-Duty Chain is only recommended for bikes up to 400cc, yet it has a Tensile Strength of 8,000 Lbs!!!!!!

The Truth is that Tensile Strength is Tensile Strength, just like 2 ft. is 2 ft.....the higher the number the stronger the chain.

So why do some chain companies recommend a O-ring chain for bigger bikes & a “non-sealed” chain that is stronger is only recommended for bikes upto 400cc???

Because the OEM Suppliers of chains (RK & D.I.D) Make more profit selling a O-ring Chain & most bikes 500cc & up now come with a O-ring chain..

The Truth is it’s just about making more Profit! & that’s the only reason!!!!!!

The OEM Chain companies will always try to get you to buy a more expensive chain than what you REALLY Need!!

Listen....we use to sell other “Premium” chains like EK & Tsubaki and occasionally still do...but even if they have a few more features or a slighty higher Tensile Strength

......they still don’t seem to last as long as a or Chains! Reason why is that no other Motorcycle Chains are “machined” to as close of tolerances as these Chains! That’s why all of the major Motorcycle Manufacturers use them for their Drive Chains, Cam Chains & even make their “Wheel Assemblies” as well as other Parts!

Fact #3

Did you know that most bikes that are over 5 Years old regardless of its size that has a O.E.M supplied O-Ring Chain (made by D.I.D or RK) has less than 8,300lbs Tensile Strength,

but you can’t find this chain listed because these chains are no longer made in a “Retail Boxed” version.....

but are only supplied to the Motorcycle Companies to be sold as Genuine HONDA or KAWASAKI Parts Only!!!

However. in most cases you’ll never see the Tensile Strength on the OEM supplied models, because the suppliers (RK & D.I.D) don’t want you to know what it is!

Fact #4 ... the myths on Non O Ring!

One of the biggest “Myths” when it comes to Motorcycle Chains is that a O-Ring chain will last longer than a “non-sealed (not O-ring) Chain!

A non-sealed chain with the same Tensile Strength or slightly higher.....will last as long or longer in most cases if lubed about every 2 weeks of riding with a Premium Chain Lube!!!(but not X-Ring Type Chains)

The “standard type” O-ring design allows dust, grit, & dirt to get between the inner & outer Side Plates. Sooo, in most cases the lubrication in the chain is gone after around 4,000 miles!

Sure you can lube the chain as often as a “non-O-ring” chain & it will last longer, but that defeats the purpose & extra money of buying a O-ring Chain!

In most cases, the O.E.M suppliers (RK & D.I.D) don’t even make a O-ring chain in a “Retail Box” anymore except to supply the Motorcycle Manufacturers to package-up as Genuine Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, or Suzuki parts!!!!!!

Look at the picture on the left & you can see that dust, grit, & dirt can collect on the edges of the seal,,,,,which can eventually wear out the seal because of it’s design! Only one small “Sealing Surface”!

facts 5, 6, 7 on so forth ... please read the rest from the link provided above. ... :thumb:

Last not least ...

Some Tips

Always use a little “Common Sense” when reading Motorcycle Chain Guidelines! No chain is going to last 80,000 to 100,000 miles as suggested in some “Chain Wear” indexes. Using the 100 rating on a “so-called” Standard Chain, then the 1,000 rating that there most expensive chain has....Well 10X 8,000 miles =80,000 miles! The difference between the least expensive chain by a “Quality Manufacturer” like RK & D.I.D and the most expensive chain is around 3 an a half times longer in the Real world. No chain will last long if your Sprockets are worn and just because you purchase a “Sealed-Type” chain does’nt mean you still don’t have to lube it on a regular basis. Try to pick the best chain in it’s Price Range that fits your riding needs that has a little more than your minimum required Tensile Strength & keep it lubed with a Hi-Quality “Brand Name” Motorcycle chain lube......No Walmart Stuff!!! Use a little “Common Sense” when comparing Chain Tensile Strength. If one chain has a rating of only 7,400lbs & they recommend it for bikes up to 750cc in size & another Chain “Brand” has a chain that has a higher number.......well, that chain can safely be use on a larger bike! Simply put....the O.E.M’s (RK & D.I.D) will always “down-play” their less expensive chains because they offer so many more expensive chains to choose fro

m......but some other chain companies will “overstate” what size Bikes their chains should be used on, because they may only have 5 different models for you to select from!!!! Remember that the higher theTensile Strength...the stronger the chain & that “recommended size bike” in some cases is just to get you to purchase a more expensive chain which they make more profit on!!!!!!

Haysis, keep an eye on the garage sales in this forum too, but yeah, go around bike shops and ask away. I think now P200 are more available than a year or two ago, someone here just bought a second hand recently so they are available, but clearly not as much as P180s. You can just leave your details with the shops to contact you if a seller comes to them for a P200 maybe ?

Firstly you need to understand, Sprockets Gear set work as 1 unit cos it consist of 2 items .. gears and chains. In another words they are lovely married couples and bond to live and die together. :cheeky:

Tear and wear of sprocket gears not only focus on chain but the gears too. Most bikes I believed when comes to changing of the sets ... some have gears wear faster than the chain and some have vice versa.

To have your sprockets sets life span to it's fullest,

1: both material plays a part.

2: clean and lube regularly

3: Adjust when needed

4: Have time and get your hands dirty by doing the maintanance of your bike

5k for a one year old P200 ? That's expensive, isn't it ?

This one, ok the guy tries to sell his bike and ok there is some truth in what he says, but please... 8-10k for a P180 new, he's just overdoing it.. I hate when people cross that line between highlighting the benefits and just plain lie and inflating the truth to something that's not true anymore.. I bought a P200 brand new with change of tyres and all that 3 months ago and it was just above 6k with everything, so please...stop BS-ing...:dot:

And if he's doing 140km/h on his Pulsar, he needs to (1) let me know how he does it with a box and (2) I wouldn't want to buy it from him, means he didn't really take care of its engine..

This one if can bargain a little bit, it sounds like a good deal for someone who wants a "new" second hand bike P200 ..
