Just a refresher for Newbies riding Pulsar.

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9165/79130309qc8.jpg

The DTSi, stand for Digital Twin Spark Ignition, is a technology from Bajaj which potentially revolutionize motorcycle world in India. Bajaj Pulsar is a motorcycle brand owned by Bajaj Auto in India. The two wheeler was developed by the product engineering division of Bajaj Auto in association with famous Japanese design house Tokyo R&D. The company may well want to replicate the technology in its other engines as well. This technology, which is also being patented by Bajaj Auto, boosts the performance of the engine, while simultaneously cutting emissions.

The DTSi technology incorporates twin spark plugs at either ends of the combustion chamber for faster and better combustion.

Single sparkplug meant slower burning of the air-fuel mixture and sub-optimal combustion chamber characteristics.

This is the heart of the new technology from Bajaj. But, its benefits are fully realised only after it is combined with a computerised direct ignition (CDI) system and new generation throttle response system ( TRICS III )

Right Spark Plug will auto OFF when RPM hit 6500km and above

Left Spark Plug IGNITEs to it's full capacity till top RPM.

hmmm so what Spark Plugs most compatible for Pulsar ...

NGK (Platinum) G POWER CR8EGP .. very good and lasting :thumb::thumb::thumb:

NGK Iridium CR9EIX or CR8EIX .. superp but not that lasting :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Nology AOS .... superp but expensive :thumb::thumb::thumb: (only HVC used this)

Today ard 11am 2 of my 'racuuun' items arrived. Tot of straight to UM to have them install however something pop up and have to delay. No doubt I have few more on the lists to arrive, at ard 4pm arrived at UM and let my racuun on Ah Teck good hands.

4 missions to accomplish ..

1: my new try it out Hydraulic Clutch

2: my new P200 Belly Pan from Kalimantan Pulsarian

3: my rubber damper coupling for Sinnob sprocket gear

4: my after market 'racuun' exhaust bracket on my main stand.

Hydraulic Clutch .... hmmm

Lots of efforts done by Ah Teck to fix the HC. Awesome product but after test ride we decided to remove and put back the stock as there are still room of improvement to have the HC safe on the bike. .... more details I will share my story happens if we meet up for Teh Tarik soon. hehehe

For the rest of the Racuuun items ... will visit UM again tomorrow morning to have Ah Teck hands get dirty again. ... end of part 1.

Part 2 .. will be continued!

Oh .. btw met Mr Safe Rider there and have a small chit chat regards to his posting ....

After reading and hearing his story ... hmmm ...No Comment here from me!! ... as I believes every one have different experienced with each mech at UM and every mechanics have pros and cons. To know which mech suits for your Ride .. you need to experience yourself lah .... heheheheh

For new members here ... just to let you know ... Jackie is one of the most experienced mech at UM.

What happened to Safe Rider hmmmm if I only knows that ...... heheheh

And as for me after 2 years experienced with them ....These 4 main mechs I've known imho .. I still can count on them.

Jackie, Ah Wai, Ah Long and ... my current mech Ah Teck.

( no doubt safe rider has an issues with jackie, to me after several occasions with him he is still ok)

And aft having experienced with additional sub mechs from Michael side, I will not let my Ride be handled by them no matter how urgent I need or experienced they are being claimed.

my share only ....

I had mistrusted this mechanic Jxxkie for more than 2 years servicing my bike.

Case 1

Gear shifting from 4 to 5 difficult after clutch cable replacement. Feedback to him for many times, instead of adjusting the clutch cable, he had claimed that the clutch rod and plates were faulty and replaced wrongfully at my own expense (clutch rod/plates and gasket). After replacement, problem still exists.

Case 2

My bike's rear tire, rubber damper and brake shoe were replaced with a new one. After replacement, my bike was draggy and stiff during riding due to the chain being over-tigthened, resulting the rear spocket and nuts became lossened and rubber damper was badly damaged and worn out.

Case 3

Frequent engine stalled during cold-start and stopping on the road after my carburettor was washed & tuned. Worst of all, the diagraphm was replaced unnecessary.

Case 4

My bike's front brake fluid resevoir was leaking and a new rubber enclosure was replaced. After replacement, the brake oil fluid still leaking. Feedback to the mechanic, I told him the metal top cover is the main problem, then the top metal cover and rubber enclosure (2nd time) was replaced at my own expenses.

Case 5

The air filter sponge were replaced several times after checking by the mechanic that the sponge was slightly black. As long as the filter sensor does not light out, why should the air filter be replace prematurely and unnecessary ?

Yesterday, I went down to UM to look for another reputable mechanic called Ah Long for second advise and servicing.

1) Gear shifting from 4 to 5 difficult.

2) Knocking sound during gear shifting and throttle opening.

3) Engine stalled during cold-start.

After diagnosed and checked by the veteran mechanic, Ah Long

Problem found

1) Clutch cable and gear shift were not adjusted properly.

2) Rear spocket and nuts were lossened, resulting the rubber damper badly damaged.

3) Air/fuel ratio was not tuned properly.

The mechanic (Ah Long) had successfully rectified those neligence problems that had been existing until yesterday and my bike was now perfectly 'OK' and operate as per normal.

I had feedback to the management and action had been taken against this neligence and sub-standard mechanic and will never allow him to service my bike anymore that will jeopadise not only myself but my wife's safety too.

:thumb: Thanks to "Ah Long" the expert mechanic of UM

I also had some bad experience with him but it was also rectified yesterday.Bro were you the one with the white and red pulsar head?

No, my red pulsar with lots of reflective sticker on my top box and wear white TP-505 helmet.

My advise not to let him service your bike anymore.

Yesterday, I met one indian rider who was serviced by this sub-standard mechanic (Jxxkie) in the past and was told that he don't want him to service his bike anymore.

Look for better trusted mechanics like 'Ah Long' or 'Ah Tek' in UM. :thumb:

for me jackie serviced my bike a few times and i felt he was ok

yes he is slower and tends to take his time

but still now i don't have any problems with him

maybe cos whenever he is servicing my bike i will be there looking at what he is doing

Guys, need your advice. I've been experiencing strong unusual vibration in the handle area of my bike. At first of course I thought I am imagining it only. Then I blamed the box, but then it is limited to the handle only. Then I thought maybe there is some mounting stuff loose on the engine, which I check by trying to move the engine but nothing seems to be loose. Then I checked my wheels, there is no sideways movement. And my wheel alignment seems fine as well, cos when I let go of the handle at low speed the bike does seem to move straight for as long as it can (no swerving). Despite, the handle continues to vibrate at certain speeds. Anyone got any ideas as to what might be wrong and what can I do to narrow down the problem(fork?wheel bearing?)? Appreciate any thoughts/ideas/experiences that anyone can share on similar problems before I head down to mechanic.

Handle wobbling right? At what speed it vibrates (wobbling) most? and when to .. during Fuel tank full or low?

How is your tyre pressure? The thread pattern too?

Handle movement left and right .. light or tight? ..

Front shock oil.. too less or too much?

sometimes these can affect the wobbling too .. just my share.

All this sometimes happen to me

Thanks bro. The vibration is maximum at 55-60 and then again at 80-85. And the amount of fuel doesnt seem to affect it. Handle movement is from left to right, quite rapidly. Tire pressure I use 29(f) and 32® and check it atleast once every 5 days. Thread Pattern and Front Shock Oil I guess will have to ask the mechanic to check. Thanks bro for sharing.
