I think I will change my oil to the one you're using next time I do the servicing, usually my oil gets out very dark when they purge it, while yours is still very clear..

Oil turning very dark isn't bad in itself. It just means that the oil is doing its job i.e. take away all the soot and unwanted particles from the engine and absorb it in itself. That is not to say that if the oil turns out clean it is bad, may be the engine condition/combustion is such that it doesnt generate the soot. :)

Haha, I think I have confused you:angel:

Haha, I was trying to say that by just looking at the color of the oil it cannot be said that the oil is bad, it is natural for oil to turn black because of the by products of the combustion process and even good oil will turn black.

mj,

Great job!

oiler tip

But from the pic, the tip looks kinda too close to the sprocket for comfort.

Will it get dragged into the sprocket. Just basing from the pic view only.

Lanzer > yes I purposely placed close to the sprocket. This is because I'm using sinnob. I did explained to Alvin, why the need to place the tip close to the sprocket too. If you observed the Scottoiler tip, it does not place on the chain but on the sprocket itself (see pic). This is because of the centrifugal force by the wind when travelling. Similar principles with our DIY oiler, if the tip is too far from the sprockets, the wind will blow away the droplets oil and will be scattered all over and not fully drop on the chain.

http://www.calamander.co.uk/images/scottoiler/hiw.gif

uncle mj i also think that your tip is a bit too close to sprocs & chain

when you are travelling will the vibration cause the chain to hit the tip?

hahaha .. just hinting you only!! Btw .. have you read the Mobil 1 website and see their videos and why they CLAIMED it is a good oil?

When a company claims their products are very very good, these claims need to be justified and certified!!!

Similar reasons why a giant company like AMS*** keeps hinting their products are better than Mobil 1 .. and to me YES after reading their website (ams***) too reasons I did aware why both are very competitive. Agreed .. it's a very good product but it's quite expensive for less than 1L a bottle.

There's even one website I have read stated to have the writer to apologise for writing incorrect facts of their products.

Similar with me since I always mentioned Mobil 1 FS as my favour eo, I have to justify my claims. I've tested the Mobil 1 FS on my ride and have been keeping track of the difference between every intervals .. 2500km, 3500km and lastest 4500km.

To know your EO better, you have to observe the feel on your ride, the look, the color and the texture .. all these will help and play a part in your ride to have your engine parts life span longer.

I dont think so ley .. Most vibrations and wobbling of the chain is at the centre area between the front and rear sprocs.

Since the tip is thin and flexible and it's pointing at the same direction , it does not get affected by the moving chains.

Today I even tested to make the tip longer a bit and rest on the chains, it seems much better cos it works like painting brush .. the oil flows along the tip being brushed along the chain directly.

However will see the results more after few clicks ride.

DIY thingy must have patience to get good results hehehee

Just washed my bike and noticed some irregularities.

  1. Rear wheel turns even when the clutch is fully pulled in (at gear 1)

  2. Difficult to rotate front wheel at certain points when I'm not even touching front brake lever

I'm thinking it's time for another trip down to UM.

Hey guys, would the customs at woodlands be jammed in the morning going to MY at 7:30am ? I would think not because traffic is probably on the other direction jammed but not going to MY, right ?

I decided i'll go to Tanjung Sedili then head south to Sungai Rengit until Tanjung Pengelih. Going back to Sg I will take route 92 then route 3. :cheer:

Hm.. I never thought of testing this :cheeky:

But if the rear wheel turns when clutch is pulled, that's normal, no ?

When you say you can't rotate the wheel, you mean if the bike is on the main stand, and leaning on the back wheel, your front wheel does not free wheel if you play with it ?

congratulation how is everything?

Mirrors are a *****.Cant see anything and vibrates like crazy. They replaced it with the same mirrors but a super small version.(those LAB Carbon fiber sticker oval shape)Bike not so smooth coz of d chain(dirty and haven lube for a loong time.gonna clean and lube it).Overall very happy with HKL's work because they replaced my aftermarket parts(handguard, balancer, handlebar) with exact same parts.Except that the handle bar is red and I am temp. using another balancer till HKL gets the stock for motovation balancers which will be around 2 weeks.
