If its your 1st offence yes go ahead and appeal, the fine should be waived off. Regarding the procedure, you will need to find out if it was HDB that fine you or the LTA and then appeal accordingly.

omg!! super long.. read half way i lost and reread.. hahah.. thank you uncle mj:)

kekeke .... ok I continue a little more on dampers .. forgot to type one more material for dampening .. rubber!!

But before that lets go to handle brace first. Handle brace or bridge can easily found on off road bikes ... why?

Since off road handle bar are slightly long or wider for stabilising the control, it can bend or even break easily if suffered heavy fall. Thus to prevent that, the brace or bridge comes in to play it's part. Purpose is to protect the handle bar and to dampen the shock of impact.

The brace also does the stabilising and dampening of the vibrations more ... how?

Since vibration frequency travels to and fro along the handle bar, the brace act as a bridge to have the frequency travel along not only on the main handle bar but divert some of the frequency along to the brace, this process will slower down the travelling frequency to reach the end of the handle and thus the dampening and stabilising at the same time. A good brace not only to have a good material but also the design of it. Posh Faith Handle brace e.g. both ends are bigger than the middle.

Rubber

The best material to dampen and kills off vibration is rubber. Reasons why your handle grip, foot rest are made of rubber. That's for the front but how about the rear?

Remember the rubber coupling in the rear wheel hub (brake drum), drive chains produced massive vibrations on the rear wheels area. Without the rubber coupling damper, your wheel and sprockets and also braking system can damage easily .. so to protect these, the rubber damper need to absorb as much vibrations as possible. Reason why we changed our stock damper to heavy duty aftermarket damper. So does the Sinnob sprockets too ... the polyurethane (special rubber/plastic) on the flanges and gears dampens the vibrations caused by frictions from chains and gears .. reasons they claimed it's no noise, no vibration and no friction . (no here means reduce massively). heheheheh

hehehe ooohhh sory lah I tot I can type a little only to explain but seems it takes your valuables time ... kekekekekekeek anyway hope I cleared most of the doubts if you have any hehehehe

below my diy dampers .. just playing around with it hehehehe

(a flush does the opp of the regular flow of fluid, where in most vehicles, valves are only one way)

Yeah it's hard to tell. To be safe, if it's not included in the official maintenance checklist I would say it's not needed. I'm sure the manufacturer knows their own bikes best.

Yeah quite scary to see the videos but ok lets see some facts here .....

1: Unique Motor and Motoworld have done lots of bikes with this services engine flushing ... and they even do promotion here on the forum. So far do we have any one complaints on the matter here on sbf?

2: OWS and Amsoil are well known company .. OWS from Germany and Amsoil from USA... so if there are problems or complaints about their products for sure we can google the info . So are there any?

3: The video shows facts but I did not see what brand of engine flush are being mentioned .... OWS, Amsoil or unknown products? Precisely the video showed to expose the company that cheated their customers ..

4: Motorcycles and cars products although are from same brands but it have different content and approach. E.g Car's engine oil with same brand and viscosity like Mobil1 10/40 but yet it cannot be used for motorcycles. If used than say bye bye to your engine. Similar with engine flush they have different contents.

5: Not in the manual ... manuals are guidelines to have your engine in good condition so reasons why it is not in the list ... engine flush similar like fuel additives like broquet is also not in the manuals .. these products are basically suppliments. Same like medcine and suppliments are 2 different things, one is for cure , the other is for prevention but yet have the similar kind of objectives ... health and life

my 2 cents here

So my guess hmmm ... I will get more info when I make another visit to motoworld. Will gather as much info from my cousin working there. Oh so far beside harmonia, Gaban also I think have used the OWS product on his Comet.... how gaban can share here and is your mech friend riding comet have used it? ...

Are you sure the rear tyre you changed is 110/70 ? Is your bike P180? If yes its stock is 100/90. With this tyre change your rear tyre circumference is significantly smaller than stock and hence your gearing will be very short, 94 KMs/Hr at 8k RPM :help:

Yup its 110/70..Is it bad? How would it affect my riding? me still green in bikes world..

BTW , my cruising speed on E-way is 70-85 km/hr...rarely hit 90..

Also normal riding distance is 6km to & from home to workplace so speed will be ard 60 - 70 km/hr...rarely use the E-way..

The reason for me doing the engine flushing is that ,I just took over this bike 1 mth ago & ride less than 800km & also kind of not feeling good in how the previous owner taking care of the bike..Also UM where I bought the bike told me that the bike had been serviced prior to the time I collect it..:nono:

So decided to do the servicng I mentioned..

After the 1st step of treatment, the mechanic drain the old EO, I can see very thick black sludge of oil..:faint:

Imagine if I did not do the servicing :slapforehead:

Anyway, subsequent servicing wil be the normal EO change only for me..:thumb:

In case anyone is thinking of buying Alpinestars MP2 gloves. Just took mine for a ride in the heavy rain. The gloves is great in hot weather (my hands don't feel sweaty even when riding at noon) but gets totally drenched in heavy downpour.

All non waterproof gloves will totally dreached in heavy rain lah .... btw I saw and tried the gloves .... nice and comfortable!

Another option to choose besides RS Taichi and Komine for the price budget. .. but promotion ends for this gloves ONLY until stock last .. limited edition!! Actual price $120 -$130 but now at $88.90 only!! That's what I've been told at Regina.

Wanted to get too but out of budget .. end up buying a pair of waterproof riding boots for $90 only (display set) since my waterproof hiking boots have wear off already.

At Motoworld Lavender got a pair of Komine riding pants for $180 after discounts .. first intend to get the RS Taichi model but out of size ... RS Taichi pants are much lighter and breathable than the Komine brand. Nevertheless it worth the price best offered given by Nick e salesman. Kiasu .. both apperals wore on the spot to have a feel of using full safety gears. kekekeke

For free gifts .. at Regina got a helmet bag while at Motoworld got a RS Taichi key chain... hehehe

Oh ya...... forgot to share my bad day happening before meeting Speedaddict at 219. After leaving my carpark, as normal will stop at a shop to get a bottle of drink to place on e bottle holder on my bike.

Stop opposite the shop, and as started to alight ..... (what am i thinking I also do not know) can't believed I forgotten to put down my side stand!!! Paisey paisey paisey!!!!

Together with me, my SPlitFire kissed the tarmac. Aaaarrrrggghhhhhhhh !!!!

But thank God, both me and my SplitFire survived the fall.

The owner of the shop helped me to lift up my bike. After putting on the main stand while feeling paisey .. walked in the shop, get a bottle of F&N Orange, paid and said thank you again to the shop owner to assist. Went back to my bike and check on any damaged.

Upon checking .... RELIEF!!!! ... Not a single scratched on the body paint or any sign of dented surface!!!

My bike 'safed' by 2 'ugly' looking things .... my CRASH BAR and my SIDE BOX RACK. kekekeekekekekk

So lesson for the day .... (no doubt it's fated to be so)

1: DO NOT RUSH IN DOING THINGS ( actually I was late to meet up with Speed)

2: DO NOT MINGLE YOUR MIND AROUND (mind thinking oh .. I am late already )

3: BE PATIENCE, BE ALERT AND MAKE PLAN EARLY

4: CRASH BAR, CRASH , CRASH BAR ... INSTALL THE CRASH BAR ON YOUR BIKE!! ... WORTH IT!!!! Need I to explain more here kekekekekeke

GOOD NIGHT and have a safe ride always!!! ..... hmmmmmmmm PAISEY PAISEY PAISEY .. hope I don't have a nightmare during my sleep ... kekekekekekekeke

Happened to me too but I realized it before I went off the bike, as I always first accompany my bike to the side stand, and only get off it when I feel it's secured. This is for two reasons: 1. If I forget to put the side stand and 2. to make sure the bike is balanced on its stand, especially if I park on a slope or uneven round.

But then again, to be able to use this technic, you need very long legs :cheeky:

Another thing to always do to help protect the bike is pull out the pillion foot rest.

I think Komine pants are better, more durable and look like a better workmanship. Which model did you get ? I am still to find a pair of pants that are my size... everything I tried so far is too short :faint: , last time I went to lavender they only had one size left of Komine and it wasn't long enough.

As for the price, Komine pants retail in Japan and Korea at about $200-250 + so I think you got yourself a good price :thumb:

SO far, my comet no issues after doing engine flush. Reason I did d flush is dat I dot the comet wnd hand, mileage is almost 50000km. I don’t know wat the prvious owner did.

So after the flushing like a month time, I will start using xado, clean the piston head using uncle Mj’s Indons Product and will c wat happens. My pulsar so far is in gd shape. No further mods require although im still considering replacing the carb with the non vacuum carb.

It's always like that one .... I think Bajaj also will say the same things ... that's why now bajaj make their own brand .. DTSi 10000 eo.

To be precised wee have to try it to know it's good or not and then shall know whether it's worth to invest on it .. if we don't want to than be it .. better for us don't wrong say one hehehe ...

for popular and well established company especially A**oil, here in the internet, better not to say bad things about their product if we don't have the facts or truth, ... they can take legal action if they found out .... I've read an article abt a writer wrote in his article stated something abt additives in their eo, he got a warning letter and was demand to make an open apology in his article to correct his mistake to avoid getting sued.

BTW , my cruising speed on E-way is 70-85 km/hr...rarely hit 90..

Also normal riding distance is 6km to & from home to workplace so speed will be ard 60 - 70 km/hr...rarely use the E-way..

It is not bad, in the sense it wont damage your bike or anything.

But you will find following difference now compared to earlier:

Positives:

With your new rear tyre which is smaller in circumference then your stock tyre, you will get better pickup power then earlier i.e. when you start off your bike from the signal you will easily overtake all the cars around you. You dont need to do many gear changes while riding in the city.

Negatives:

On expressways earlier you could cruise at 85kms/hr at about 6.9K RPM, Now 85Kms/hr will show 7.3k RPM so the ride will be slightly more rough and as if engine braking is happening and wish there was a sixth gear in place to kick up to.

But since you dont ride much on Expressways I think it wont make much difference to you.

I've read an article abt a writer wrote in his article stated something abt additives in their eo, he got a warning letter and was demand to make an open apology in his article to correct his mistake to avoid getting sued.

well, it's not the cleaning agent i'm worried, more about the technique call flushing. if u know how flushing works, they pump the agent in the opposite way ur eo is suppose to go. so if u pour ur eo from top and leak from bottom, and the gears suppose to turn in clockwise with the eo, flushing will do the opposite, meaning the agent pumped from bottom, force the valve to open in the opposite direction, gears to turn the other way. thus u see the danger if the valve is one way and the residue pumped up somehow blocks it, it might cause more damage. somehow i agree with the experts and various manufacturer. if i found there's low maintainence done, i rather follow the slow way, using better oil+addictives and change more regularly. however it's up to individual, unless i know fully how bajaj engine works and how flushing really helps, i'll stay away. because end of the day if the mechanic opens up and found certain parts torn, usually blames on wear n tear after prolong usage, they wont know if u've done flushing b4 and the effects might not show immed.

my 2 c. :p

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Yes... I did the same things as always .. only for yesterday somehow I lost focused .. tot I put down my side stand already, lean my bike to the side and then realised but it wsa too late to jerk the bike up. Just let my bike fall while I focused my safety first by doing the correct back fall to avoid any injury.... hahaha my karate and silat skills still exist ... kekekekeekke

For riding pants, my first intention is to get a lighter version as I don't want to wear it the whole day .... just need it for riding so can be removed and stored in my rear box and do my normal daily work.

About the quality, I guess is basically the same only that the armour for komine is slightly thicker reason why it's slightly bulky .. but nevertheless it's ok and comfort when riding. Slightly warm for day ride but there's a couple of zipper around the thigh and shin area for air flow while superp for night riding. kekekeekeke

For next month budget, will get a riding jacket for my wife, riding pants for her not necesary since she's wearing my previous komine knee and shin protector.... hhehehehe

There's a words in malay lingo saying "Siapa tak sayang isteri beb" meaning .. "who did not loved his wife?"!!! ...... kekekekekkekekke

hahaha MJ.. All riders must sayang their pillion and protect them, wife or not, just friend or acquaintance, it's our responsibility to protect the pillions ! Even if they don;t want to be protected or don't like to wear gear !

Can't make it tonight for teh tarik session at AMK, usy until 11pm. But maybe this Sunday you can come with your pants so I can see :D

Update on my switch box electrical project:

- I installed the switch box on my bike, on the dashboard. It took me about 4h to do it and wire everything safely along the frame. I am so slow at this, if I didn't love my bike so much I would've quit after 2h.. For someone who has ZERO experience in opening a bike and doing mechanical stuff, it's not easy. But you learn as you do, I'm sure next time I open the headlight assembly it will take me less time. I now have even more respect and admiration for the mechanics at UM for all their hard work and for their skills !

- I forgot to wire the headlight tap cable. So after I put back the tank and closed everything: "ALAMAK....!:slapforehead:" But no worries, I'll have another try at it some day this week :)

- Good news is USB port + all the switches work fine. Now the next step is to get a fusebox to wire everything in it and secure it under the seat. I got one on eBay for $30 USD (Blue Sea ST 5025 Fuse Box) including shipping, should be here in a couple of weeks tops.
