Hey Isaac, maybe might need your help with the switch too. My button gone. But I still have some warrenty left over from shop, will see if they fix it first.

A question on the side, do you guys know if the speedo is suppose to have light? Can't see anything in the dark.

damn. another thing to bring up to the shop. Hey ask you guys, my bike is cruising comfortably at 80kph. I tried pushing it abit but it goes to like 90 only. Reckon there's some kinda problem? Or maybe I never push hard enough cos of traffic. But still the 90 was quite an effort. And also the engine brake is quite powerful, can feel and hear it. Is that common?

I never have any problem with the stock Dunlop but, if you want another brand offering, how about Metzeler 880 series?

Yeah, i changed it to dunlop and it was really good, i love it.....sticky and good, gives me confidence when i corner......my previous one was some duro brand....its hardy but slippery...scary.....:giddy: :cheeky:

Hey adriel & plasticblackspecs,

I riding a FQ plate shadow too, when i first got the bike the condition is really not good, like you two were mentioning, cannot go high speed one....then after riding for 2-3 days bei tahan, i went to my bike shop and did some maintenance & servicing which includes:

1) change spark plugs

2) change engine oil

3) change oil filter

4) change air filter

5) bleed the brake

6) flush the coolant

7) change the drum brake pad & front brake pad

8) some throttle / clutch tuning

After the servicing, it feels totally different, more responsive and engine seems to roar to life easier and gives more power etc.......and when i go NSHW i can go 140km/h + too....so maybe you guys might wanna do some servicing?

Yea, maybe I should. But I doubt I'll be doing any servicing yet. The engine's running pretty smoothly and the shop told me they've changed the EO and everything. I'll take their word for it. But I'll probably do my first change around 2000km instead of the prerequisite 3000km. I just need to go fix the speedo light. That day went to the workshop forgot to ask them to do it. Now much go all the way to Bukit Merah again.

Back to topic, it could also be me not used to the wind, especially these few days. I seldom ride more than 90 or 100kmph also. Like never got chance. If not traffic then it's camera or red light. Even when I drive my parent's car, I seldom whack pass 100kmph also. Could also be the posture and all cos cruisers not as aerodynamic and all. Could could and coulds. Endless man.

wow, it actually stopped raining.

Why not DIY. You can get the bulbs from a shop along Rowell Rd. Its on the right hand side, a few shops just as you turn on it. I think there are 3w and 5w. There are also colour options ... red or blue. Its easy to install.

have bike will travel . . . . .

Hahah bro, sometime better not to take the words of the bikeshop for it, because for my case after 3 days of riding and how the bikeshop confirm that they have already change EO before i get the bike, i went and change it despite what they say and my personal bikeshop told me that the EO is very murky and dirty not clean and new like 3 days old EO should be.....then i know that the bikeshop bluff me because i never see them change before my eyes. Anyway its a small things, EO only, so i just change it.

For me is, buy bike is one thing, but for maintenance and servicing i rather go to the bike shop that i know and trust rather than the bikeshop that specialize in selling bikes, not repairing bikes........ :thumb:

Unbelievable! Could it have slip off their mind or is it a deliberately act? If it is the latter, better to stay clear from them. My advise, no matter how trustworthy a shop claims to be, it is always better to hang around when they perform jobs on your bike.

There are dozen of shops if not, all could offer tire replacement job but, if you need a few recommendation probably with a budget mind, I would suggest Rosli, LAB, Regina, Powerstar Motor (Opposite Regina), Planet Motor and Mah Motorparts.

Please be mindful about changing just one piece of the tire to go along with the other piece, which, in your case is the rear to be inline of the same brand with the front due to tire treads differences.

For white wall tire paint, it is not available locally and has to be specially order online from Iceland. I would suggest changing both your front and rear to Metzeler 880 white wall series otherwise; you may want to consider getting the white wall linings from Aunt shop along Kelantan lane but heeding madman’s words, it may be unsafe if the adhesive used may truly wears off over time.

nights.... thanks for that....

does it matter if the front and rear tyres are not of the same brand?

always thought it was just hear say..... i have not checked the brand on my front tires... but the thread still looked new.... its only the rear that is going bald.....

such a waste to change the front as well...

I'm not too concerned abt the white wall.... just nice to have... but not crucial la....

will probably drop by Rosli tomorrow to check....

cheers bro....

btw.. did u get the links i sent you on msn?

It isn’t really about the brand but, more of the tire treads and in a competitive market; it is almost 99.99% that all brands of tire bear different tire treads. So, unless you are interested with a wobble or two due to the offset centerline tread design, it is better to stick with a matching pairs but, there are also a few others who commented nothing of that sort.
