Bout 8 months ago, I changed my chain and sprocket due to chain very tight at certain location when free spin the rear wheel. I asked around, pple advise me to change the whole set. After I changed, the situation become ok. But now, the problem come back again. Riding fast cannot feel it, but when slowling down, can hear the tuck tuck sound when the chain jerk at the tight location. Can anyone help me with the problem?

And another problem is that, I have not ride my bike for 20 days as I was oversea. When I start to ride, it produce a lot of white smoke, even after i ride for bout half an hour. Izzit normal? Will the smoke lessen after a few days of riding?

with regards to the chain, its is pretty unclear whether you have been taking care of the new chain you have gotten (i.e. have u been lubricating it regularly enough?), your riding style (hard acceleration tends to wear out the chain faster) and the quality/type of the chain you changed 8mths back.

i realise that chains tend to have this "certain part tighter than the rest" symptom once it is nearing the end of its lifespan.

if u take gd care of the chain, like cleaning of chain occasionally and lub the chain regularly, the chain will last abt a year plus..

How to see chain slack? Honestly, I seldom lube my chain. once in a while then i will lube it. So lets say if its a chain problem, will it do if i just changed the chain instead of the sprocket? The teeth still look ok to me.

$60 for the whole set. I forget the brand liao. I oni noe the sprocket brand is JHH. Anyway I check my last post on changing chain and sprocket is at last july. So its bout one year ago, not 8 months.

And will pillion alot affect the chain?

pillion do affect chain tensioning.

1st test - side stand,measure chain slack

2nd test - 1 rider sit on bike, test chain slack

3rd test both rider and pillion.

One more thing, try to look at the joint or the link,is there any abnormality?

B4 tighten is the loose portion pull up can touch the swing arm. then the tight portion abit loose loose.

After tighten is the loose portion cannot touch the arm when pull up, and the tight portion very tight.

I tighten after i heard chain hitting the arm as i ride.

Ok,wat u need to do is

1)bike on mainstand.

2)loosen the main axle nut.

3)the 2 adjusting nut-must be the same marking.adjust 1 side at a time.

4)once chain slack is confirm at its best, lock the 2 adjusting nut. Then tightenen the main axle nut.

u shud noe where the 2 adjusting nut. Both nuts are facing u wehn u are behind the wheels.

Can go nuts man:angel:

Guess I need to change soon. Now the chain got its solution. Meaning I oni need to change the chain and not the sprocket rite? Normally its the chain problwm? What bout the massive white smoke thing on my 1st post? Izzit oways like that when not riding for many days?

u don have to change if there isnt any abnormal links. its recommended to change after 6 times of chain tightening. and it doesnt need to be tighten often too if u lubricate it well enough. u must also check..sometims the chain will hit the chain guard..chain can last quite long if u take care of it properly.. don have to buy fancy race rtype or heavy duty.. just lube it every 2 weeks on the weekends shld be ok.
