hi all.. me noob to scooter... quite interested to get a skipper as transport bike...

is the price of parts for skipper expansive compared to other scooters??

haf this impression that scooters have a rather higher maintainance cost than wave, rxz etc...

for those skipperists out there, is the maintainance costs (wear and tear etc) comparable to, say a honda NSR Sp?? what abt the price range of the parts?? coz a few of my friends riding gileras, and parts are generally more expansive...

a good friend once said to me, "You will only be truly happy if you give your best in everything you do..."

and i thought to myself...

how true...

Common problem for old skipper. Likely the 2T tank, oil seals is gone. Chnage the seal. Pray it's not the 2T tank crack. The leak is from the right side of the fairing, exhaust side. right?

it is not the tank or seal, its the pipe run across from right to left.

The leak was quite bad, within an hour the whole 2T tank dry off, I was very worried as I can feel the engine was too hot and I did pre-Mix some 2T with fuel I guess that helps abit.

As my bike still has warranty from bike shop (was given one mth warranty) so I ride to the bike shop and found out the 2T pipe was melt by the cylinder which means there is no 2T goes into, lucky i did pre-mix otherwise ....:giddy:

anther interesting observation is my cylinder cover was missing, will the cover give extra cooling or by remove it its better? i thought the cover will direct the air-flow so that to have better and even cooling for the whole engine? (correct me if im wrong), or remove it better since singapore is already so hot??

same time changed rear tyre ($45 tubeless), one of mounting ($35) brakeshoe ($25) is the price resonable?:dozed:

and talking about workshop, is there any workshop really good at skippers and with resonable price?

thanks

and where to source some 2nd hand parts for skipper? I need the dash cover, mine was cracked and cant even see the reading, and I saw some old skippers around bike shop but either differnet model or condition no better than mine.

u r right abt the cover.

better go get the cover.

look at the design of the engine bay.

for the naked bike like rxk the air cool engine block is towards the front of the bike with nothing blocking the wind to it.

skipper engine block is being shield by the fairings. so not much cool air will circulate.

that's why it's covered up and have a fan sucking air into the cover. the faster ur scoot rev the more air goes into the cover.

i think maybe the block is too hot that's why it melt ur 2t pipe....:faint:

i kena the 2t leak before.. might was because of the loose seal, thus overflow from the reserve tank.. was panicked that time too.

for 2nd hand part, refer to my pm...
