y don't u try HKL at bukit merah...metzeler 880 marathon...lasting and gd grip in wet weather...and definitely much cheaper than OEM by30%. OEM dunlop lousy grip also

Or, you can always contact Rosli of RS Bike Centre - 6747 8202, located at Blk 1063, #01-193, Eunos Avenue 4, Singapore 409797...Most of the riders here go over to his workshop to get their bike serviced...Call and ask for quotations first before deciding...Good luck and cheers...

Thanks bros for the updates.

Hey TME, what brand did you get? Sumsoon still at CCK? Please advise.

Mine are original factory fitted Dunlops. Rear wheel has high tendency to skid during hard braking... looking at changing some sticky types... any good ones to recommend?

Cheers! Its Sunday!

Seems that shops have difficulties getting the Metzeler ME880.

Any alternative choices? How about racetecs on sportsters?

Looking at real sticking ones. Where to get?

I read somewhere there's a recall for tyre 110/90/19 on new sportster last year cos the factory shld fit 100/90/19. But who cares anyway.

Any improvement switching to wider front tyres 100>>110?

Hey, any interesting stuff to share from you fellow sportsters? Tyre pressure? Shocks? I have a 2003 XL883C... low rear... feels very hard.. and tends to "fly" over humps.... any idea how to fix this?

Posted

maybe slower over humps will be better, else if the rear shock can be adjusted to a softer setting (dunno if stock can be adjusted, am using Ohlins)

Tyre am using the Screamin Eagle ones, with 220/240 psi as reccomended. But changing cos front one out of shape, but yeah, metzeler no stock. Sumsoon says will be in end July early August.

I was using Michellin Commander Tyres on my '05 Sportster. Great grips even during rainy days and on multi story carparks wet floor.

Check out the link and writeout. Got them at HLK in Bukit Merah. Cant rem the price.

I am using the AVON VENOM X for both front and rear. The tires endorsed by most US top buliders including ARLEN NESS.The threads are similiar to the sports bike type. It cost me about $400 for both.

Just changed into a pair of Metzeler ME880. Ride feels significantly smoother than the original dunlop. Investment was $410.

Running in the rubbers over the week.. before heading up to Phuket... celebrate national day!! yeah!!

Got to learn that there are front tyres which have the same size as the rear ones; but are constructed differently. Rear tyres are designed to take more weight.

Key point is to use correct tyres! Don't end up using fronts on rears!

Its weekend again!! Cheers! :goodluck:
