Hi, juz wanna noe if any of u guys experiencing high EO consumption on this bike? Mine already 5yrs old. Once a week, I usually have to top up at least 100ml oil. There seems to be no oil leak. Btw, I travel abt 500km a week on average. My only worry is the piston rings wear might be the culprit to high oil consumptions? Any ideas?

Idling screw is on RH side, juz below the tank, there's a hole for u to use a long 'zero' size long flat screw driver to adjust. Hole is in between tank edge & body frame. Turn clockwise to decrease & counter clockwise to increase idling. Hope it helps.

Bro. May I ask? Do u do high milleage on a single oil change? Cos I change mine every 1mth without considering the distance. Distance was around 1k km. I high rev my fz alot. So I take care my eo. Engine oil I tried castrol go and idemistu mineral. I would prefer idemistu.

Actually, since I bought this bike since 2009, I only change the EO every 3k mileage. Only since the 5th year riding this bike that it seems to consume more EO. Any1 have the same problem? Maybe the piston rings really have worn out.. Btw, I only use fully synthetic oil.

Any reviews on Pilot Street tyres? So far, personally I find BT39 are the best tyres. Tried Pirelli Sport Dragon, not too bad..

Try changing into semi syn oil. See if any diff. Full syn is so thin that may leak through small gaps in the engine

I used bt39 for front and bt45 for the rear. Good and gripy. Can scrap footrest

What specs? 80/90, 90/80? Where u buy the tyres?

Mine was 80/90 front and 100/80 rear. That time was using dunlop tt900

Y do u need to change the coolant? Izzit corroded already? I've not change my coolant since day 1 I rode my FZi. The coolant is still the same, green liquid in my radiator, checked 2days ago.

hey, have you guys experienced the petrol efficiency going down for this bike? i ran out of petrol yesterday, had to push to station. but very surprised that i actually ran out. after calculating, i noticed my petrol efficiency is down to 38km/litre. in the past it was 43km/liter.

FC is still the same for my bike. It's been for 5yrs now. Juz the EO consumption high. Full tank can run at least 400km.

I used to have full tank milleage 500km per tank. And I realised I pump 9 ltr only. Wack all to 11k rpm. Coolant hose once open need to change new coolant already. I use coolant ice as I care for engine instead of outlook

Used to able to get 42-44km/litre when i'm travelling on expressway

 

now use this bike to work despatch, only getting 38-39km/litre

Maybe too much stop-go contribute to high fuel consumption. Personally , I ensure the tyres pressure are almost max requirements, n oil chain regularly.
