seems like it's still happening... but I've been topping up with 15W50 and 5W40.... maybe only 10W40 is the solution?

How's yours? And how's the brake lines coming along?

How about your oil loss?

well, seems like still the same. Haben tried using 10W40 oils yet but seems slightly better then before. After 2000Km when i changed the oil yesterday there seemed to be quite an amount though i never really checked.

hmmm looks like the thingie you bought have got some effect?

Hmmm wonder do the 650 Burg-er King bros encounter oil loss?

not tat i know of. the 400s encounter the oil lost prob, partly is the way the valve is design. the engine setup is totally different from the 650.

Anyway I made a duplicate of my key, costed me $5, workmanship quite good. Thanks to Edwin for the recommendation!

Now I must find a way to duplicate the knob at the end of the original key.... must make a mould or something.

Dun tink the mould would work either.... there's a magnet in there that allows you to open the cover. Without the correct magnet, the cover wun be able to be opened by the key.

I dun think there is a magnet. Cos that time my 400 K6's keyhole got close up by my friend and the knob at the end of the original key was already damaged. Eventually i had to use a special tool and managed to open it.

Just that the keyhole is easy to close but harder to open. So wat u need is a tool to hold the locked hole tightly in place then turn it.

yup esp after touring up north (loss around 300-100ml) , was using Maxima 15w50 then. recently tried ur suggestion using Motul 10w40, loss not that significant but still monitoring...

I'm not sure if the 07/08 have reach spore or not, you probably have to do some shopping...

I estimate the burgman650 to be around 18k +++.

Hi Arcfire,

Check with u, is ah beng familiar with scooter servicing mainly the transmission parts area for example stripping of clutch and transmission for servicing and cleaning?

Have u let him do or seen him done before?

The '07 Burgman 650 is out since last year August. But no one got it into Singapore. Cos this bike is too ex for a 650cc. And there is no demand in a brand new one. Just imagine i got my new '06 Burgman 650 a few months ago in July. In Singapore, there should be abt 1 '05 and 1 '06 brand new 650s left.

Managed to get a whole lot of stuff done on my bike today! Spend the whole morning and afternoon....

List of things done:

1) Change of both sides brake master pump piston and flush/bleed brake fluid

2) Change of engine oil

3) Change of front fork seals and oil

:cheer:

Hi. Bigcow. Do you know where are the '05 and '06 burgman 650 (I presume they are the executive model?) located?

Last year I saw 1 in Looi's Motors and another 1 in AS Phoon. Now I'm not sure if they are still there, anyway, how do you tell the difference between '05 and '06 model? I can ask the salesman but I think it is better to confirm it myself.

How is ur bike so far. I heard there is some rear wheel bearing problems? What is the fuel consumption? It is rare to have people riding this bike in the forum. Tell us more.

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Update on oil again: (yes I know, I'm quite a-n-a-l about oil loss)

Last saturday did an oil change, once again using Motul 7100 10W40. One week later (today) I checked oil level. The oil was still at the top line of the oil dipstick.

I think this does it for me, from now on I will only use the same oil. Seems like this particular oil resist oil loss in the Burgman particularly well. The only alternative I may consider is the Motul 300V 10W40 if it is avaliable.

Now.... next target is exhaust and my bike will be 'complete'!

Yo mate, long time no c. y itchy to buy 650 liao ah. I think loois still have the 05 n ASP the 06 exec. Its just the color diff, nothing else. I getting ard 22-23km/l in SGP (SPC octane 95) and 15++km/l on NSH at 160+km/h. Rear wheel bearing prob belongs to the earlier batches not 05/06 model. Join us la, since u like this bike when i no u.:thumb:

good for u, but doesn't look for me. so far i have topped up 150ml n now keep getting the low oil level indicator at current mileage of 4500km since last oil change.... mayb change back Maxima 15w50 since motul a bit more xpensive.
