I'm a new rider and this is something the driving centre never told me about.. First encounter was at PIE, going at 80-90km/h, overtaking a truck (u noe, those big ones that carry sand) and woosh... my bike swayed to the right, almost pushing me to the other lane. Ever since then, have to brace myself to adjust when riding beside trucks man.. will try out factors like speed and distance to truck to find out a "sweetspot" and not get swayed too much..

hi sops,

well speed is the best factor 2 have when u r overtaking these kind of heavy vechicles. but be warn dat dis ''wind pushing effect'' can also happen 2 u when they overtake u. esp on the m'sian hi ways

Whoa.. never had trucks overtake me before. Thanks for the tip. Itching to go Malaysia. Planning a trip with my frens but I'm the only one with DP bike so, no trails.. :( will bear that in mind with the sibey siao coach drivers (they're craziest at night, using trunk roads and going at insane speed.. reached KL once within 4 hours)

hahaha! u r rite! those coach drivers with their twin turbo engines can haul ass esp at nite. best way is 2 avoid nite riding even on the hi way. trunk roads have 2 many dangers at nite dat can move! trust me,u don 1 2 run over a big monitor lizard at nite on a bike! :cheeky:
