Its exotic, rare and good to look at.. Not the best bike in term of performance around the block this days. Its not a day in day out bike.. You can't save down on parts and accessories either. If you have the extra funds to put it down in the track often, then let the fun time flow.. If you're into a more unique feel why not.

Is the performance solely measure on how fast the bike can go on a straight line ?

In this case, I think no bike can beat this Indian which clock 202km/h at 1967.

Actually, in a recent review, the MV matched the R1 LE in terms of performance. The 999S was a close third.

If you are thinking of money issues, then don't even think about a MV or Ducati (or any non-Jap bike for that matter). Owning a Italian superbike is as expensive as owning a car. Just think of it as buying a car, but with 1000x more performance, fun and appeal than a 1.6L econobox.

Indeed! Both bikes Duke and MV are expensive. The real Fun starts when you ride and own either one. Took many sleepless night to think and part my $$.. Currently one of my favourite out of of my stable of 4 bikes.

You get lots of head turns and thumbs up when stopping at a traffic lights. It handles well in corners and the best part is that the exhaust note of my ducati will make some of the Big V Twin owner blush..

I don't think I will blush if people are admiring my bike. I will blush if I "zhng" my bike in a bad way and people are laughing at me. But of course, I don't do that. I spend all the money on performance mods and none on the bling.
