Bro and gals those who have problems entering the internet these few days please go to this link for help>>http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs

This issue is actually cause by a recent update (KB951748) by microsoft to XP operating system and causing a software conflict to zonealarms firewall users thus preventing access to the internet.

For information on how to do it please refer to the above link from zonealarm....

It only affects XP users only, Vista luckily was spared.

Spread the word to friends who also have problems accessing the net and are XP users....:cheeky:

On a general note, I feel that ZA has had its share of Windows XP problems, especially with internet access and third party application functionality. IMO, i feel that its firewall and application restriction policies sometimes are too restrictive to even make third-party apps run properly.

Then there's the old adage of "only use Windows Certified applications" (and not third-party ones). Yes, I know that, but still, ZA can sometimes make XP stop in its tracks...buggy indeed.

Still, I give it thumbs up for its sleek interface and near-seamless integration into Windows when it's installed. My first-ever firewall software :)

why not try Comodo Firewall Pro... its also FOC :D

review is here... http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2240712,00.asp

Comodo is good, I have it on my computers at home now.

It's not as restrictive as ZoneAlarm as I've found out after using it for quite some time. It's free and easy to use, yet also allows granularity for power users -- advanced settings that allow/restrict access all the way to memory / port access checking too.

And it has a small footprint too...doesn't eat up memory that much
