Hello guys, i am new to bike and hopefully pass my license soon, i did some research on new ktm bikes and second hand ones, just wanna ask through your experiences, is second hand bike reliable cos i see the price at times its even half the new price, also i need some advise on which bike to get,i read some reviews that wr200 is better for transport uses and weekend trails but i heard theres no more production of the model and the bike mostly available is 5yrs old at least, is it ok to get wr200. last question(hehe) KTM maintence is really very high is it? roughly how much $ need to standby for it maintainance every month. i need a bike to ride to skool on weekdays, not far around 10 km and another 10km back. and weekends i go around maybe 50 km in total estimate.so which is a better bike for me to use? Plz give some suggestion and comments.thank you so much.

get a WR n u'll thank me later. i got my WR last year FQ plate n the only big headache it gave me was due to my own carelessness (2T tank was bloody airtight the 2T cannot flow) piston jammed spend almost $800 (but worth it) fixing it. WR is a realible bike. Paul Chow (race incorp) did own one before n if u're nice to him he'll show u his trail expeditions pictures where u will think a WR wont make it there.

anyway if the moolah factor is not a problem for u then jus get a brand new KTM. its worth the money. no point getting 2nd hand when u dun know the condition, previous owner blah blah blah :cheer:

anyway good luck for ur TP n may the expensive insurance be yours.

rien d'autre que le max.

:cheer: Good luck on your TP :cheer:

Best is new but if tight budget than 2nd hand lah!

Good WR can go anywhere/anytrial any bike can go but bcos of it 2stroke smalltank, sometimes you have to go out top up and join them again.

The Jap stop making 2stroke machine

Best economical safe trial bike is the Australian model XR250 single overhead, almost maintenance free but a bit low on power if compare to the WR.

KTM is like riding comptn bike on the road with very slim/thin barrel wall :goodluck:

Well im ridin a FP WR myself n i mus sae its a damm reliable bike n it has been servin well veri well for the past 1 yrs plus wif of course sm "Major" problems here n there.. i mean wad do u expect frm a almost 10yr old bike n carelessness as a newbie back den but overall 101% to the gd ol bike.

Of course if got e dough go ahead n get a KTM200 but make sure do ur homework n in e event u do get it make sure u can tahan e liability tat is to come...

BTW im lookin 2 upgrade to KTM400.. ani bros got ani lobang :>

(PS: I'l be still keepin my WR for transport so sorrie wun be lettin it go for the time yet heheh)

ok bro, i jus bought my wr200 1.5 mths ago...

its good, cos as u said, u will only pass ur license on the coming days, so can i say u r new to riding. so getting a wr200 is suitable.

why?

1 cheap compare to ktm (bike and parts)

2 reliable (engine is good for road and offroad 90km/hr and above no problem)

3 the power is enough for a new rider

4 u don need a powerful bike like ktm200 as it will overwhelm u

5 when u drop the bike, u won feel the pain as much u drop a expensive bike! hehe... this point is my own experience la, crash afew times liao, most serious is radiator broke!

6 the bike really fun!!!!

hehhe. hope u get a bike for ur fun experience, but choosing bike depends on urself la.

Eh Gd Luck For TP aits....

Hopefully u only see their face ONCE!.... Haha...

Anyway i juz got myself a WR but its now in the workshop... Gearbox problem!... Chee ***.... Hehehe... Anyway if ur a newbie, in my opinion a WR is more than sufficent... Enuff power & good value for money to transport u ard to skool & back... There mite b some minor minor problems but that can b settled... Juz make sure u maintain ur bike properly... Like check 2T & 2T PUMP if working not... VERY VERY IMPORTANT!.... Engine oil also ( If not u mite have to change gear box like mine!)....

But if u insists on KTM then the WOW! factor is definately there... But then ah.... Hmmm how to say this in a nice way.... U muz have lotsa money.... Or maybe u should juz b hoping that money will start fallin from the sky if eva anything happens to that bike ( touch wood!).... Haha... Summore fuel & 2T consumption is very high... U muz remember also that spark plug will also have to changed often coz high burn rate... Hmmm all these little little things all money...

So think hard my fren... N hopefully u'll make the rite choice... Hope to see u on the road someday!....
