Only a few KLE500 were sold. It's a nice bike, but it's neither here nor there.

Honda will not come out with a new Africa Twin. In it's absence, Honda has the Varadero 1000, and the Transalp 650, and lately the Transalp 700.

hey guys

hardly log in here these days..one of my bros told me about the KLE tread..so tot i can give me 2 cents worth...

been riding the KLE500 (2006 model) for 1.5years. very practical bike if you are at least 1.7M tall.

the engine is bullet proof although dated..it was developed in the early 90s and if kawa use it for their EN500, GPZ500 and KLE 500...some thing must be right about the engine ;)

dats my main reason y i got it.

so far i only know 2 other bikers riding this bike...

If you buy it brand new like the 3 of us...be prepared to keep it for at least 3 years or more...cos

1)it's a kawa...so resale value sucks

2)it's a brand new bike! you lose heaps if your ass itchy after 1 year :p

i used to ride the equally rare TDM850; miss it sometimes but with the KLE fuel consumption of 22-25km/L (i have hit 28km/L before on highway riding)

cant complain much.

drop me a message at [email protected] if you wan to know more; think

Joe

yo bro Joe! long time no c, how have u been?

thread starter, i am 1 of the 2 that joe mention am riding the KLE 500. i consider it a great bike for the the price $ that i pay for, the cheapest class 2 bike in SG.

don't listen to joe abt the height must be >170cm to ride comfortablely 'cos i am only 163cm TALL & i am very comfortable on this bike :cheeky:

I'm rather interested in the KLEs as a bullet proof bike, can I know if spares are easily available locally? Would also like to know at what speeds can it cruise comfortably on the NS highway.

Yup.agree with you, its the cheapest bike in class 2. Whats the max that you can go with this bike? Maybe we should meet up and discuss abt this bike. I am around 1.64metres and that time i tried to sit on the bike it seems thats its quite high but its ok if i m getting the bike then i would just shave off few cm of the seats.

Its a Kawasaki bro..Some parts are available but some got to order. I even enquire at Evershine about some parts for this bike, they don't keep stock but definetly can order.

Not sure about the engine though, have not really gone through the fine details. But this bike CG is high, i think not really for high speed travelling.. Just for leisure rides:P .

not entirely true bros

visually it looks as though the CG is high...but th engineers made efforts to put the heavy parts as low as possible....so it corners like a breeze...at least on the stock tyres..the dunlop trailmax.

i dun know..it actually felt more fun cornering on the KLE than on my previous TDM850...

i usually cruise at 120km/h on the NSH...but the bike can cruise at 140...it's just the biker...always..not the bike :bounce:
