such a bad condition... how to repair like that? it's more recommended to replace... try checking for 2nd hand from locally (low chances) or ebay or oversea... many angmos like to convert their fz1s to fz1n, if that is, u can find them selling their loot...

good luck! :)

Mine was for FJR, New OEM parts. Urgent buy so go down to FJT to buy on the spot as they have stock.

hi all,

I am the 2nd owner of fz1s.Since I've bought the bike,I discovered that whenever I released my handle at @90-100km,the bike swerves to the left.I've changed my cone bearing that had caused my new front tyre to go uneven ,changed to new handle, changed the front rim bearings, pressed the front rim, but the problems still exists.I've sent to various shops to rectify the problems.is it because of my fork, spec or worse my body alignment? I cant get to ride comfortably while trying to maintain the straight course along the road.:cry:any motorshops that the mechanics really do the test ride and not just assume here and there and caused more hole on my pockets?I would be thankful for any constructive opinions and suggesstions.:p

not to put you at any cold shoulder, but you come here to post your problems, you will get various of suggestions/answers... everyone had different opinions/views... i guess if you really wants concrete answers to your problems, i suggest you go back to agent, Hong Leong... throw them with your problems and ask them for an answer... but i bet they will tells you these & that...

anyway, most (i think all) of us, riding fz1, are having the same problem as u... it's your bike's weight distribution... it can be the stuffs in your bike or u had changed to aftermarket exhaust... that's my opinion...

Calling all FZ6S riders,

anyone interested to get whole fairing for ur bike? I have discussed with @CrossOver. He say need around 4-5 bikes to minimise the cost and effort.

Will cost each around $400, compared to thousands over for an OEM fairing, or 800-900 for aftermarket fairing from overseas.

anyone interested? pm me yea?

Most bikes aren't perfectly symmetric in weight distri. Your pipe is on the right side. Other parts on the left.

Also, many FZ1 owners have noticed that the right side of their front tyre seem to wear down fast, resulting in a bit of a flat spot, or even cupping of the tyres after a few thousand klicks.

just curious, am i correct to say rvf400 is the exception? its a pro arm with chain and exhaust on the left.

To what i know. all road will be slightly slated to the left to channel water away. that explain why nearly all bikes will have their right side of their tyre wear down faster. And when you let go your handle, the bike will serve to the left....

Even my fz also serve left if let go handle.....

But those who have damper, may not have this problem....

couple of days after i changed to PR3, i ever tried, i can maintain balanced for a pretty long distance...

things on my bike:

- new tires

- damper

- right pannier heavier than the left pannier

- aftermarket exhaust

hahaha...

from wat i know is that we tend to lean on either side when riding maybe that the reason tires tend to have uneveness wear and tear...

Posted

FZ1 swerve left if u are using aftermarket exhaust. The original exhaust acts as a counter-balance to distribute weight evenly. An aftermarket exhaust is so much lighter, resulting in the 'leaning' problem.I always load my panniers heavier on the right side to curb this problem.

My bad. I meant "Aren't perfectly symmetrical"

u can go & google for hepco & becker, givi, kappa, trax, shad, krauser, t-ray top boxes... durability are almost the same... of cus there's a different between plastics & metal makes... once u get yourself focus on certain models, u can approach their respective dealers for cost... 2nd hand wise, try checking the garage sale... :)

It might be a TPS problem.

Throttle Position Sensor. Do a search about it.

Solution is to open up the bike, take out the TPS, spray it's innards with GT85 or some other contact cleaner, then reassemble. It should be good after that.
