Hi i want to ask about my bike. Currently there is a problem whereby the rpm is not constant between 0.8 to 1.2 rpm. During idle and warm up. Sometimes its ok but most of the time its not constant..kinda irritating.also when moving off, the bike will jerk due to unstable rpm.anyone can rectify this problem?..tia

You might wanna go to ur bike shop and check the efi...

Its a good bike. engine is pretty hot compare to revo and don expect a good FC as compared to s4. I also bought a new fz1 where previously i rode a spec3 recently. If ur patient and can wait, should consider the mt09 tracer

hi, just give abit of my personal input..since i owned revo previously too.

 

i traded in my revo for a brand new fz1s too.. the good points i can say in comparison to revo is that the power is definitely more satisfying. a so called downtuned old r1 engine but having rode sports bikes before, it feels as sporty and responsive when you want it to. (everything stock except for termi end can)

 

fuel consumption isnt far off (18km/l for fz1 and 21km/l for revo). ofcos it depends on rider and road. my norm speed for both bikes is 100-120km (id rather overtake then stay behind/beside other vehicles). 50-50 expressway and streets. but on the fz1 i got the tendency to unknowingly speed up to 140km becoz its just feels...right.? personally, many ppl who dont ride fz1 under estimate its power. and thats a good thing actually.

 

i feel the revo is hotter than the fz1. revo always feel like my balls cooking. fz1 feels like my ankle is cooking.

 

in any case the looks of the fz1 is underrated.. yet it does look slick. i like that. revo just looks kinda, normal.

 

Both have comfortable riding posture but the fz1s offers much more comfy cruising at faster speeds due to the fairing. having said those, the fz1 actually feels more nimble and agile. probably because it has abt 3 times more power and slight weight difference. dont have much to say about touring. not yet. probably when others share abt their input on touring. very sure its positive too.

 

maintenance wise. both are the same. i dont have much to say as for both i just follow either 5k km or 3mths interval for normal servicing (oil, filter, etc) so far, after 20k km and 1 year of riding fz1, ive not changed any parts yet due to wear and tear. im looking to replace coolant, brake fluid and brake pads soon though. i can feel the suspension abit bouncy overtime too, probably just need to adjust that, not service. FI no problems. hopefully not till 70k km to 100k km? lol.

 

overall i wudnt know what other bike could suit me for all the good points at that price. the price is really affordable, i meant the machine price for a new one. its considered cheap for a 1000cc bike (in sg). real good deal i guess.

Hi guys I'm riding a 2007 yamaha fz6s s2 currently and just wondering if it's normal for the bike to make a whining noise at about 75km/h?

 

Not supposed to. My ex 05 fz6s is smooth to 90km/h at 5000rpm. there is only some vibration at 5500rpm to 6000rpm, then smooth again after that.

what are the current mods you do for FZ6S2 bike to make the bike better in handling, performance etc?

I am thinking of buying a damper for the bike anyone selling DMV attachment for Hyperpro damper? or do you have the damper u wanna let go?

Any issues with front fork? i feel its abit soft.

Change to progressive springs. Hehe

I just cleared the "honey****" and can achieve 275km before the reserve comes on. Using 42t for rear sprocket too. Mine's an s1 btw.

Hi guys, anyone selling a tall windshield for the 06 onwards Gen 2 FZ1s?

 

I'm thinking of brands like Rifle/CalSci/Nat V'Stream etc. The shield should ideally be at least 24" tall. I'm currently on the Yamaha Factory 20" Touring Shield and I don't think it offers much wind protection (I'm about 1.78m).

 

Anyone selling such a shield? Need one for my short run up next month. Thanks in advance!

I had a stock FZ1 wind shield (replaced by a Riffle wind shield and it super good) and a touring seat (tested and proven comfortable and never changed back to stock seat) for sales.

 

Why I am selling? I downgraded my bike due to low riding activities because of my new born. Will pick up again a few years later.

Might get a 9 years old FZ1N, is Yamaha or FZ1 well known for being problematic bike? Since HL still selling FZ1, I assume finding parts is not an issue
