Yes i hav notice recently there has been a increase in No. of driver driving wif out headllights on even as late as 10pm+.. i hav tried a few times tryin to hint/handsignal those C*ck/Blur driver be it a He/She. Some responded but many fails to as it seems to me tht they had their eye focus jus right straight ahead n rather not aware of whts on going ard them (these are e driver tht i find them post a even more danger to themselve n other road user)

However something tht catches my attention tht could it be e new make n model of certain cars takin for eg like e Merc Benz or Subaru Legacy tht it seems to me tht e intrusmental dail n indicator does lights up automatically jus b4 or after e iginition is turn on or so.. unlike e conventional way of turnin on e light indicator.. so tht came to my thought could tht feature of it tht mislead most driver tht they had their headlight on wif out payin much attention to it as some mention SG road are well light up.

Heres a clips

Proper way of switching on HID is just after engine starts.. Why? Cos the initial current draw of a HID bulb is very high, much higher then then 55/60 watt bulb.. Hence most OEM hid headlanps only switches on after engine starts...

No matter how u "focus" a beam on HID headlamp with OEM multi reflector headlights, you would still cause glare.. Why, take a look at you normal Halogen headlight.. there are 2 filaments, hi and lo.. there is a tiny piece of metal reflector within the bulb.. ur low beam shines up, ur high beam shines below... The reason low beam shines up is cause it reflects down on the road, and ur high beam shines low so that the beam shines up when reflected on the reflector...

For HID bulbs, there are no "metal reflector inside bulb" to direct the beam.. so it shines all around the headlamp reflector.. More like high and lo beam switched on, eg when u press the "pass" light.

So some HID manufacturer have a tiny elctronically controlled reflctor on the HID for hi-lo beam purpose.. Some have dual HID for hi-lo beam

Since HID need to warm up, the response very slow, its totally useless when u wanna flash hi-lo beams

A great HID conversion headlamp if u really need to change HID, perfect for 7inch headlamp like of super 4:

http://www.futurevisionhid.com/hid-xenon-7inch-h6024-projector-headlight-kit-p-69.html

This one the best, 7inch also, comes with delay start.. (only US street legal one i found so far):

http://www.squadfitters.com/catalog/motorcycle-accessories/headlights/hid-7-round-motorcycle-headlamp

The PDF shows the delay start function, lights only one after engine is running:

http://www.jwspeaker.com/pdf_files/model_8100_instructions.pdf

For normal headlight bulbs, it could also cause unecessary glare, happen to me once when i change headlight bulb and forgot to readjust the lens properly.... All the cars in front of me super pissed off....

Proper alignment of headlight:

i think alot of drivers, no matter they can see cannot see, can estimate or cannot estimate.. they will still change lanes without checking their blindspots..

dont say drivers, most riders lagi worse.... they even just cut into biker lanes... Ride/drive more, u see more... I use to drive 5000km every month 7am-3am daily mon-sun (not drivin taxi hor!) U see alot of stupid riders and drivers... I see more reckless riders then drivers... Now i seldom drive, i ride more.. Still see more reckless riders compared to drivers... But stay away from weekend plate cars, young drivers and especially Mercedes Drivers. Be it old Mercedes, Mercedes Taxi, 3 series or 7 series.. 98% dunno how to signal one!

OEM headlights ain't bright enough for me, even after a change to legal brightest Osram bulb still ain't bright. I prefer HID :thumb:

yup at nite I does realise that there are several cars cruising along the road without headlamp ON as well as the rear.

I think as we get our license we start to forget abt the basic, like my instructor said first thing u got on your bike is not to turn on the engine but to go around the bike and check for abnormalities as well as the lights (*it should applies to both drivers and riders).

yup no doubt that HID is indeed glaring and cause temp blindness.

i'm afraid that HID are misuse, under normal condition don't see the need for HID lamps.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

I drive a Honda stream with OEM HID, I actually feel that a bike's HID or simply normal headlights worse than a car's beam as the headlights are generally mounted higher than a car. I get blinded by biker's beam more often when i am driving rather me getting blinded by a car's beam while riding.

Same reason why trucks and SUV headlights appear brighter, cos they are mounted higher.

Its also because they're mounted higher that the light can shine further. Imagine stadium lights put only 10 metres high, how to shine the whole field?

Car headlamps are generally better than bike's because they are larger. Thats why Goldwings, FJR, STX etc got huge headlamps, more mirror = more light on the road.

It's true, I get blinded more often by riders' HID than by cars. Though in my experience, cars with HIDs always drive like real arseholes and WILL tailgate and force you off the road.
