The XENA alarm disc lock will sound off when the bike is shaked?

It has 2 types of sensors: movement and impact. Usually, it will trigger when the unit is rotated by about 90-degrees. So, each time the front wheel is rotated by about 90-degrees, the alarm will activate for about 10 seconds. As for impact, it needs to be shaken quite a bit to activate. I believe this is to minimize any false alarms and not be a nuisance as well as to lengthen its battery life. Since an impending thief would need to hack on the lock, therefore, on the whole, the alarm will be triggered upon an impact or when the disc lock will come into contact with the brake calipers when the wheel is rotated during movement of the bike, provided its batteries are not flat. According to the manual, the batteries will last for about 8 months under normal usage, but I've just bought mine last weekend, so I can't confirm on this yet.

Ah Boy is selling the HODAKA brand for $25. However, I'm not too sure about its alarm module because when I tested 2 sets, the self-supplied batteries are already too weak to activate the alarm. Hence, I suspect that the alarm module is consuming too much battery power during standby and will shorten the life of the batteries prematurely. It's not practical if you need to change the batteries every 3 months or less. Unfortunately Ah Boy doesn't sell the XENA brand. Otherwise, his prices are always cheaper.

I bought mine from Powerstar Motor at 151 Jalan Besar for $60. However, that was their last set (the XR1 stainless steel model). He said that the next batch will cost more. Alternatively, the importing agent is Chong Aik at 34 Desker Road. Their price was $68.50, including GST.
