Hi...sand dude,

Rest assured...you are not the only one that still believe in the raw basics of riding. There is no doubt more kakis like these to come, you just havent found them yet. But within your group of frens, I can tell most of them believes in the same stuff as you do (e,g the old men, Cookie who rides is GSXR...etc etc) ..so count yourself lucky..its def not a lonely path.

To each his own i'd always say. SOme hardcore track junkies just wana push themselves to the limit....always seeking to betther thier lap timing...and every little bit in gadgetry that might help in this is welcomed. Be it the gear indicators that reminds you that u are oredy in top gear or the shift lights for optimal shifting points......If it shaves off even a fraction of a second in lap times, its worth it. Its definitly nothing wrong with improving your machines..every little bit helps but just makes sure we dun get duped into buying useless and unneccessary accessories for our bikes....especially any dubious electrical add-ons (high intensity light bulbs included)....RVFs dun particularly like them if u all know what i mean.

More is definitely not ALWAYS better!

But there are most people out there that does not fall into the group described above. They buy the latest gizmos because thier frens have it. Or that it looks good. Or that its cool....a must-have! SOme dun even know why and how the toys they spend hundreds of dollars on works. The purpose of thier modifications is not to improve thier riding times or skills, its for addressing fashion statement! These are the people we affectionately brand as posuers.

I've got nothing against posuers because you can even say that I am one! coz i dun bring my NC down to the tracks like it was made for! But the important thing here is that as we improve the machine...we must not forget to improve the "man" factor in tandem as well. Else, you will not know the true value of the modifications you make.

The rider factor matters the most in motorcycling, more so than the mods you crave for or even the bike of your choice. This is not only an ideal, it is the undying truth.

But at the end of the day..do not forget about enjoying the ride with your machines for that is far more impt than wasting time worrying about the next mod or "fashion statement" to outshine your peers. The RVF is oredy a fashion statement by itself :cheeky:

My 2 cents naturally.

3 cheers for the RVF, ppl!

:cheer:

hiya! congrats in getting the best sportsbike(IMHO!) in the 400cc catergory!

yeah the rvf runs a lil hot, i suppose you should get used to it.. :/

daytime my temp bar is usually at half (or a little less than half), night time is better though, it'll be quite cool at less than 1/4bar if im riding. just in case, just flush your coolant will ya? enjoy!

it normally gets very hot at around the 5k to 6.5k rpm range. this bikes are suppose to move slightly more than legal speed limit to be cooler
