Not abt rarity of parts but if you are complaining abt the wear & tear of RVFs, think abt the CBR. How many well-conditioned CBRs are there ard...

No doubt CBR is a powerful bike, even more than the RVF, especially the legendary L. But my opinion is that RVF got more usable power range over CBR. Most imptly, RVF has the handling and flickability that's definitely incomparable in its class...

yeah,i never win a L model before even for pick up and top end.i like rvf because of its design and handling.

I trust the Honda engineers but not the Japanese bhp restriction regulation... hahaha... why waste the bike's full potential? :D

the trade-off for full potential is, sadly, lifespan...

if they didnt make engine last that long ever since they started making automobiles, i guess nobody will be posting here saying they trust honda engineers...

:cheeky: hey guys.. currently interested to get an RVF. Heard it's a gd bike in terms of handling... but performance? Any recommendations for any modification need to be made for better performance??:cheeky:

Is that your current bike in your avatar?

If so, I'd suggest you pick (and spend on) an RVF based on its road-worthiness traits first.

Performance and modding comes later when you're pretty much settled down on the RVF, learning how to ride it, maybe throw in 1 or 2 tricks to it, etc... That's the time when you're pretty much hungry for more raw power despite its known restrictions, if any.

That's my advice for new 2A riders. :thumb:

RVF's cams are gear driven. No timing chain.

Is your chain loose in the 1st place?

Sound is from under tank or from crankcase there? Left, right or both side? Need to be more specific

That one ok. Most prob is due to valve clearance. The usual case is before warm up then can hear, after that the sound will go away. Strange, your one opposite!
