it is quite normal to have the heat... but needle pointing very near to the H letter its normal when u idle for too long and doing half clutch during traffic jam.... but when moving at constant speed at 110km/h, my tempature needle will show half or lesser =p

That depends on how you schedule your servicing. I did mine together with the carb wash cos have to take out carb anyway. Valve clearance $200 at K&T.

Go check your coolant system for leakage, damaged radiator cap and probably do a good flush. Normal riding the most should hit slightly more than half mark only.

A additional plus point is to go remove thermostat and add a switch for fan. It'll be cooler.

`chUn;2982571']think in 2 weeks time i will be going again.. LOLx~!!

better go find fullface den we go again..

You went there with an open face? Wow, that's unbelieveable.

Anyways, forgot to show you guys something.

When I went too hot at one of the turns at PG, this is what happened to my helmet when I fell, hit and scraped the gravel on the side of the track:

See, despite the high price tag that it brings, fullface helmets do really work to protect your head doesn't it?

like tat do cost around hw much?.. anyway...is installing a volt meter useful?

Posted

Sorry very long never take part in this thread for discussion but jux want to highlight somethings.

For new RVF riders if want to have better ride after tuning is done, pls check the 4 rubbers around ur pistons which help to maintain air pressure.

Also change your pilot pins if worn out + the 4 other pins which control petrol going into ur carb.

Reason is due to even if you tune and this things are broke or not in good condition, the performance is affected.

Anywaes hi to all in here too.

Regards

Lamer

It is really useful. It would be able to tell if your battery is going flat, ractifier is going to spoilt or magnetic coil is not charging, thereby undercharge your battery which would ultimately lead to your bike unable to start.

At first i install the vote meter at the advice of the RVF people here and not appreciated its usefulness until one fine day when i about to go home from work then i start my bike, only left 10 votes. I quickly call clifford of K&T and he told me something is wrong and ask me to come down immediately where he will wait for me.

Along the way i noticed the needle is not moving at all and slowly going down to 9 votes and finnlly at 8 votes when reached K&T where on the 2nd round of startup, it won;t start at all. They checked for me the next day and found the magnetic coil is not working nor charging at all.

so the 200 bucks is on top of the full service money rite??

Wash & Tune carb = $80

Valve Clearance = $200

Plugs = ($16 to $18) x 4

Maxima EO = $21 x 3

Oil Filter = $15

Stock air filter = $55

So can work out yourself what you need to do...

Problem occurs when a part of the system is faulty. Either coil, rectifier, battery, wiring. Try to maintain all in good condition and you wont have a problem. Usually the problem starts with the wiring. Either the previous owner did some mods or those black tape fell off resulting in bared wires and thus power leakage. If you can, I advise you to strip your bike and do a full check on the wiring.

Mine has been healthy since I took over the bike. Heard from previous owner the rectifier has been working nearly 1 year before I bought it over. So if its true, my rectifier, battery and coil has withstand 1 yr 9 months w/o any problems...
