the only bad factor about the bc800 speedo is that, there is no backlight. i mounted it just next to the tach. in singapore still ok. street lights bright enough to make it visible. second link no way.

as i said earlier, i only interested in the max speed function. i clocked 215km/h yesterday.

too bad...saw ur post too late....act jus wan 2 tell u, jus changing of engine oil is a gamble to whether after dat ur prob will still exist anot.....if im u, i will change the clutch plates & engine oil 2gether....dats bcos wen u change ur clutch plates dat time, u will still hav 2 change engine oil lor....so might as well do it 4 once....

act u can try to speak to ur bikeshop whether u can owe them 1st if u got not enuf money 2 pay the full sum....i believe if u frequent dat shop often, it's not much of a prob ba....

Trust me on this.

And why do you say that this is the best? care to explain your theory on oils? Do you know what engine oils actually do....since you are an expert on this topic, care to explain further why this or that oil is better on any sort of bike engine.

If not, I feel if you were to make a statement like "this is the best, Trust me on this" How do you gain people's trust? Are you not potentially misleading newbie riders? Sorry if I sound provoking but I feel that if anyone posts something technical related, they should back it up with facts or at least a personal account on your experiences will suffice.

As a benefit to riders out there. i will post a review on engine oils....right after you bro....you first..

Taichi : I believe there is an article on engine oils somewhere in the forum.

All : Personally I would prefer engine oil of higher viscoscity. Thats why I'm using fuchs as well. It would be better for high rev engine to have thicker engine oil. Thats what I feel. Higher viscoscity would prob cause cold start to be slightly more difficult, and would prob need a little more warming up time. Basically I am using Fuchs becoz many RVF pple here using. But i think its not bad oso.

Revo : Actually change clutch plate no need to change oil oso can mah.... Just collect the oil then pour back loh... :thumb: :cheeky:

ambasnakeman : you can try asking them. they should have. if dont have you can always order overseas. i posted the website here b4. thats the guy i bought my engine casing from.

after change to inverted gearing, the problem lesser. i think my lever was quite loose adding to the problem.

the whole thing about engine oil is getting violent

i know that the numbers got something to do with heat and viscosity. i think indivudual riding style matters too.

and the thing about using the same oil after changing plates is not a good idea. there will be sediments from the old clutch plate inside.

The " VISCOSITY" rating is related to the thickness of the oil at certain temperatures, ie how easy it is to flow.

Lower means easier, so a 10w oil will flow easier than a 40w oil.

Multigrade oils with markings like 10w40, 5w50 means they behave differently at different temperatures.

a 10w40 will behave like a 10w oil at low temperatures like between 5 deg C to 35deg C, than change its behaviour to 40w oil at higher temps.

The reasoning is that at lower temp, the oil must be thinner to allowing the oil to flow faster and coat and protect all surfaces, then at higher temp, when your bike has warmed up, and you are thrashing the nuts off it, to give a thicker barrier for better protection.

So, 50w will be thicker than 40w, and the engine has to work a little harder to "push" the oil through the passageways, thus you lose a little power for better protection.

You can go higher than the recommended 40w, but not lower for reliability.

OK?

And don't ask me which brand better, cos they all wear out over time, and regular change is your only gagrantee:smile: :cheer:

Yes, I ordered stuff from Japan last year. It's by Paypal. It's safe doing transacytins with him. I ordered an engine casing worth about $2k and another order of pistons from him. All I had to pay the full summ up front. But he came true to his word. :thumb: Definitely a safe person to order from. His name is Devin Davison.

You can order pratically ANY oem RVF parts from him. Yes, when I say any, it really is ANY. Price wise, not everything is cheaper than FJT, depends. There are alot of other aftermarket stuff for RVF you can order from him as well.

It might be due to the sand particles or brake dust stuck at ur brake pads....in another way, we term it as brake pads dirty liao.....just take it out and wash it plus some sanding on the surface....very simple but a dirty way....bike shops can do it 4 u but of cos wif a labour charge lah.....smtimes its not due to brake pads wear out liao....dis is wat i experienced b4 not saying it's the BEST way to settle ur problem....dun wish 2 mislead anybody or newbies in here....

I just changed my brake pads a few weeks ago. But I still have the squeaking sound. So it's not necessarily becoz the brake pads are worn out.

I think I will consider getting the brakes cleaned up at the shop, see if it helps stop the squeaking.

y2kredbull : All you have to do is to email him. No need to go thru me. But I believe his stuff oso comes in full sets.... not sure, maybe you can try.
