wat?!?! i ride a few days, den got a few problems, so pushed back ask them to fix.. my front brake disc warped, so they say will send for compression.. told me have to wait till latest nxt fri coz they send to other shops, den dunno when will the disc come back.. hmmm.. ah hui is handling my bike..

Ang Moh best would still e to get new disks as even by metal pressing its not 100% warp free but if tight budget then send for pressing would be best option : )

 

Yeah, I guess you're right. A new disc offers problem free braking.

 

Reason why I shared this piece of information with you guys because I was actually surprised that my mech actually had that as an alternative option too.

0o So that's called brake bleeding.. icic.. coz in engineering terms, bleeding is to remove air pockets... haha.. anw thks for sharing

 

Actually, you were right; your concept is also applied to bikes as well.

Air (pockets) are braking's worst enemy and bleeding actually eliminates the air. But for bikes this means everything needs to be flushed out for that to happen.

Bro yanwei, when you do fast and hard corners and go over some uneven roads, does your rear keep shaking or goes up and down?? if it does then is time for you to rebuild your suspension.

 

Corner wise the rear is a bit shakey. Otherwise uneven rds still not too bad, don't have the yoyo effect. Most of the time it's only over the humps. Where would be a good place to rebuild susp (if need be)? This bike is usually serviced at racewerks.

Rebuild susp = replace all relevant seals, susp oil. Don't need to change the spring right?

Guys, how do I tell if my rear susp is too soft? Apparently, when my gf and me after clearing the 1st link msian customs, there will be like 3 humps right after the counter. I can clear 1st and 2nd hump, but at the 3rd hump, even if i roll slowly, i can always hear my susp "bottom out". Even at bugis junction basement carpark, will sometimes bottom out also. All at really slow speed.

I'm 60kg, and my gf is 36kg.

Is this due to insufficent gas/liquid in the susp, or too soft susp settings? If so, how do i go about adjusting it?

Ok. I think I can do it by following the haynes manual. To adjust the pre-load (compression), I suppose I can use my fingers to release the locknut first then turn the adjuster nut itself? Or is there any special tools required? When i turn the adjuster nut 5 rounds, is it 5 click sounds or 5 x 360degree rounds? And for the rebound, its called damping right?

The book says to adjust until standard position by turning the damping adjuster clockwise until stop, then anti-clockwise 1 turn. Then to increase damping, is to turn clockwise. I follow this method then how do i test to see if my damping is the correct amt?

 

natgw: where is bikelab? I will try bro hrcsgp's method first then see if got any improvement. If not then have to bring down for rebuild liaos. What's the cost for rebuilding like anyway? Ard $200++?
