If i did not remember wrongly psi lvl for RVF is 32 front and 32 back(if im not wrong). so for sg road i was using 32 front and 34 back/36. Reason why you feel when you turn instead of cornering and your handle bar turn is normal as less pressure in the front. So long you corner with your bike and not turn your handle bar, it will perform as per normal.

When you pump 42 for front and back, both your tires are hard and therefore less contact patch with the ground therefore your bike will bend lower faster and easily. example would be: imagine very hard soccer ball roling on the floor and one which has half filled with aire rolling over the floor, which one rolls faster? Hope this helps a little.

My Friend you are in good hands as God knows whats best for you. 30/10/12 Dedication, love, arrogance, pain tolerance...these things WILL bring you lvl after lvl.Strength of mind. 1) type specs say 42psi when cold. Thats the max. allowable pressure.

2) When warmed, like others have mentioned, its ard 32-33. However, back tyre pressure depends on whether u pillion often. Single riders also practice 33psi at back. With pillion, try 35-36.

regarding the cornering issue, less pressure exerts less contact force on the ground. hence, the normal force against it is insufficient to let the tyre move off the grd. At the same time, over pressure causes less contact area with the surface hence though smooether feeling, high possibility to skid.

So just try within recommended range by those posted earlier. Stick to the range that makes u feel comfy.

Pressure will be dependant on tyre compound..

For my bike, recommended pressure is 36F/36R on stock BT014..

But currently running on 2CT, so my pressure is 36F/41-2R..

Only pump when the tyre has cool down..If nt dont waste time..

btw, MC28, thanks for helping with the directions. I manage to figure out the route to both places. Will recce both of them soon.

You know what? I had a frickin' nail up my rear tyre this morning and didn't find out until I stopped at the nearest petrol kiosk.

I didn't check before I moved off and one thing i noticed was that my steering became sensitive -- my handlebars kept wanting to fling left or right even when I made the slightest turn.

Upon figuring out why this is so, I decided to engage in educated guessing as to why this is so:

When the rear tyre is inflated well and thus being quite round, whenever the rider demands the bike to turn, the rear -- being round as it is -- would naturally "oblige" as in it would roll to its sides as the bike is being banked

However, for a wide -- or "flat", in my case -- tyre, the contact patch is widened, and whilst it makes the bike stable going straight, whenever the handlebars are turned, the flattened and wide contact patch on the rear becomes "hesitant" to roll over to its sides. So, this dis-harmony of the front wanna turn, but rear doesn't wanna...what happens is the front would just go its own way and threaten to lowside the hesitant-to-bank bike.

What da ya guys think? Correct guessing? Discuss if wrong pls...

Oh yeah guys, about the outing complaints...it was all a matter of confusion and misunderstanding. I'd like to apologise if any remarks that I made suddenly became significant to any one of you here --- of course, this should not have happened.

Outing-wise, yeah, I could have done better with proper planning and photo places.

Also, I din't actually had much trouble or complaints with those that came a bit late. In fact, I was quite surprised that the rider with the spoilt rectifier could actually find a bikeshop at that odd hour that could replace his faulty part and still make it to the outing. :thumb:

Well, for those of you who don't already know, the outing is dubbed "Newbie Outing" because a lot of you actually requested for outings. Plus, as with what Thomas have said, it was "mainly for new RVF rider". To get to know each other better and to integrate them into the RVF group. Knowing each other helps too cuz you'll never know when each other needs help down the road...whether it's a phonecall or a meetup on the street.

PS. Next time must find place not only to fill up our bike stomach but also our stomach.. :cheeky:

Point noted with thanks.

(That is, if somebody requests that I organise another outing.)
