I remembered I read something about the combination of both the automatic and manual transmission in 1 machine....

That would definately be the choice......the pros of both transmissions available :cheer:

what you read about is known as clutchless manual or semi-auto...

 

It is known by a variety of names in the car industry but essentially, the fundamentals are the same, an auto with the option of chosing gears when there is a need (eg, overtaking)....

 

BMW=steptronic

Volvo=geartronic

Porsche=tiptronic

Audi=tiptronic (from Porsche) and Multitronic

etc.......

sigh ... being using manual for years ... changed to auto last year and lost 1/2 my enthusiasm for driving :pity:

 

but no choice oso ... in S'pore, traffic jam every where ... manual gear + traffic jam = :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

Can hold your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend's hand while driving. That alone is worth it already...

Driving auto is too comfort, fall asleep easily if tired.

Driving manual, drag gear switch high to low to overtake.

Damn exciting won't fall asleep.

Tried b4 almost fall asleep whenever go too slow.

that's where you are wrong...... when you drive long distance, even the manual transmission won't stop you from falling asleep (cause you'd be in 5th gear all the time)..... believe me, I have tried.....

Maybe the preference differs as a person ages... :pity:

 

 

Twenties--- Powerful bikes and manual race prepared cars.

 

Thirties--- Convenient bikes and comfortable auto cars.

 

Forties to fifties --- Big and comfortable bikes and luxury auto cars.

 

Sixties and above--- Who cares? Call the chauffeur. :D

i wud prefer auto cos easy 2 handle....no need 2 fumble round with the gear/clutch...can use the extra time 2 look around 4 danger maybe?im a slacker lah.... :D

or just get those that you can select auto or manual

can relax or really whack when you feel like it

for me, too used to auto already haha

so i pick auto! :D

Another auto advantage to add = left hand hold steering, right hand hold ciggie. :clapping:

True

 

For me, definately a manual. Auto makes driving sian. With manual, u have something to play with, drag with.....Only hates it when it jams.

 

My father always say autos are for gers when my brother suggested buying an auto car. :D no offence.....
