Hi guys, I've posted this question before on the touring thread. So im gonna do the same here to get a balance opinion. I've decided to get the hypermotard evo sp about this March until I saw and sat on the super tenere. Immediately I fell in love with the bike. All this while I've been wanting to get an adventure bike, particularly the R1200GS ADV since about 4years ago. The only thing that has been stopping me is the price. So here's the situation, I felt that hypermotard would be more practical for me as a daily commuting and for some weekend trackday. As for the tenere, I like how the bike perform (base on the review and some research) and the feel when im sitting on it but I doubt that I could make full use of the bike potential like off-road or touring as im tied up with work. So now I would appreciate if you guys could give me your opinion and thoughts. Maybe also the review of the hypermotard evo sp, maintainance and fuel consumption? Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for singapore street riding, occasional short kopi session in malaysia and weekend trackday. Then motard suits your needs. I dont think you want to bring the ducati motard to do off road riding, the cost of the parts replacement will burn a big hole in your pocket. Touring is possible just that you have to stop at every 150km for petrol top up. I am planning to bring her to visit whole of thailand at the end of this year.

At stock level, EVO SP fuel tank is around 200km at 12litres (including reserve). Normally you have to top up at 160km mark. With termi, the fuel consumption should increase with full tank at 180km.

Thanks dude for the reply. Im wondering how much would it cost me for the termis 2-1-2 and 2-1? Now after looking at both bike in detail most prob the hyper is more suitable for me. Oh yah another question is, how's the servicing like and the cost of it. Thanks once again.

EVO series - slips on is 3333. Not too sure about full system, maybe 4k plus or near to 5k.

Servicing wise, i am unable to comment because i have not taken delivery of my bike yet. The manual recommended engine oil change at 1000,12000,24000. 4 bottles engine oil and oil filter. Probably have to standby around $160 including labour.

796 - wet clutch - available in white, red and black

1100 evo - dry clutch - available in red and black

1100 evo sp - dry clutch - available in corse red and corse white

Its actually harda to find someone to give you insight on both bikes handling. Unless he/she (1100) borrow another friend (796) to ride, if not you can find one to own both bikes at the same time. Actually the horse power difference is not just mere few hp. There is a difference of 14hp between 796 and 1100. If you pump up the performance of the 1100, you can gain additional 5hp, close to 20hp gap.

Hmmm......any class 2 bikes will always ask you to buka buka, isnt it? Only class 2A is sustainable to go slow on Singapore road. The 1100 evo surging goes off only from 110km and above. If you are merely to use in singapore only, 796 should be good enough

Warranty is only for spoilt parts that failed to perform to due normal riding circumstances. Not for consumable products such as engine oil, spark plugs etc. Bike servicing issue is just like your 2008 R6 regular servicing.

Hi,guys, I am getting a 2nd-hand HM 1100S soon. I need to clear some doubts b4 i make up my mind. Hope you guys can give me some advices.

My height is only 1.71m and my legs are not long. So, is that okay to ride a HM 1100S? I know the seat height is 845mm, but is it adjustable?

Seat height is not adjustable. I am 1.70m tall and both legs tip toe on ground. Yours come with ohlins suspension. Probably you can soften it to allow you to have more firmer foot contact with the ground. When i went minerva and sat on those 2nd hypermotard, as compared to the new one, i realised the used suspension has been run in and provided softer feel.
