Spec bet Pulsar and Avenger similiar...with one exception; Avenger hve Halogen 60/55 watt headlamp...woo hoo!

This bike has pique my interest. Riding TA150 now.....looks like should seriously consider changing to Avenger :smile:

Avenger now clearing customs, according to Universal motors. Costs $5200 excl insurance. Engine same as pulsar, but about 30kg heavier, hence should be less fuel efficient. Comes in two colours, black and red. I'll be among the first batch of Avenger riders.:smile:

the tank also the same size...?

In the website doesn't show the fuel consumption for this bike right?

KcKerk>> did you ask Jonhnny if there are many ppl order the Avenger?

what he got so say about this Avenger?

Of course Johny only say the good things mah..

But he agree that fuel efficiency will not be as good as pulsar because the bike is heavier. Fuel tank slightly smaller than pulsar, but reserve tank bigger than pulsar; total fuel capacity slightly more than pulsar. There are already orders for the avenger before the bike officially arrives in the Singapore market. But how many? That I didn't ask....:smile: Display unit and brochures available at Universal.

so whats the good thing that Avenger have that Honda Phathom don't.

coz this is the most common answer ppl will ask. Defintely ppl will compare.

so what make u wanna get the avenger rather than Phathom.

anyway did you know, Pulsar 250cc is coming out end of this year. same fuel consumption of 50km.litre.

Avenger is cheaper than Phantom by almost a thousand dollars. Phantom is so common in Singapore whereas Avenger is new. Some might consider this a downside of Avenger but I am a risk taker. It has a bigger fuel capacity than Phantom, hence less trips to the petrol station.

That's all I know.. I am just a newbie; just got my 2B license last month. I didn't know pulsar 250cc is coming to town. But I don't have 2A license and the road tax and insurance would be higher right?

correction made, its 220cc.. only rumour has it that it was 250cc..

anyway $1k is a lot of different. hopefully more people will consider buying the Bajaj Avenger. than we guys can shares ideas about this bike.

so how much is the machine price for Bajaj Avenger?

:confused: Got a question to ask ....

Heard frm my friend that this type of bike is harder to turn the handlebar than the normal bike we use @ training school , is it true ?

btw the fuel tank = main/reserve --- 14L/3.4L

Licence

2B ------> 240806

3 ------> 200307

Bike

Bajaj Pulsar 180 -----> 020906

this is a cruiser type of bike.. chopper like.. so its more for relax straight road type of journey.... but its not much a different in the turning radius..

anyway i jus came back from Universal and sawe the Bajaj Avenger..

its now in town... i ask them, its $5208 before insurance.

Greetings from India

Bajaj has been manufacturing this bike in India for the past 4-5 yrs. It started as the Eliminator (with a kawasaki 175cc engine) but due to high costs, Bajaj put in the Dtsi engine from the Pulsar 180 and cut the price by almost 20% and named it the Avenger...

The bike has a 178.6 cc engine and pumps out 16.5Bhp@8000rpm and 15.2Nm torque@7500rpm....

She does 0-60km/h in approx 6.5 seconds and goes on to hit a max of around 110km/h on the speedo.

In India, we have been getting the bike to go around 40-42kms to a litre easily and the riding posture is quite comfy too. Its priced around 5% more than a Pulsar 180....

The new Pulsar DTSFI is a 220cc, 20bhp machine...

We rode it here in Pune, India and the machine is way way better than the Pulsar 180 in terms of comfort, handling, gearbox etc...

In India, its going to be launched in app 2 months and will be priced at a price around 35% more than the Pulsar 180

My personal bike in India is the HeroHonda Karizma (223cc, 17bhp)

Did you mean the tank-bag? The bag which sits on the tank and sticks to it with magnets integrated into the belly on the bag..

not the tank bag. i mean a leather cover that cover the whole tank from protection against scratches.

GoofRider, you seem quite experienced in modding your pulsar, any ideas on how to mod an Avenger?

Posted

well brother.. it depend. as for a chopper like bike, its nice to have accessories..

maybe if i have Avenger the first thing i would do is change the seat cover. look for a nicer material.. and also look for side leather compartment.. than slowly slowly u go thru chopper magazines or website and get some ideas..

So far only about 5 or 6 Avenger owners in Singapore. Hope there will be more in the near future and they will join this forum.

Posted

yea.. well it take some times.. so have u got your Avenger?

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3154/2630373527_9614b93b66_o.jpg
Posted

Yeah, I got my Avenger. So far so good, it is very stable. This is my first bike, so there are things that I'll need to learn, like how to maintain the bike. I'll need the opinions of the more experienced bikers here.:smile:

have u done your first servicing? well if you going to, observe what they doing, basically, checking your tyre pressure, chain tension, changhing of oil etc.

ask him for advice and all..

so are you putting a top box or a side box?
