just came back from jb. change spark plug and air filter for spark135 @ rm12 and rm25 respectively. i just change my chain for SGD28 at yishun a week back. so i asked how much is that chain at the JB motortiam. it SGD12 cheaper thereo_O

 

shop i went to is AMG. service quite good. the mechanic tried to teach me things even he can hardly speak english.

 

any idea is AMG good?

AMG motor enterprise. after passing shell, turn right, under the flyover and go straight. that the first stand alone motortaim you will see. it next beside a money changer. one of my colleague also service his bike there. his experience had been good so far.

 

i wanted to change spark plug only as my engine keep stalling during cold-start and moving off. after changing the plug, the mechanic ram the engine and show me slight black exhaust smoke. he told me this is due to dirty air-filter. i took his recommendation and changed the air-filter as well. he took out the used air filter and knock it on the ground to show me alot of dirt are being trapped inside. engine felt so much better after that. not sure how much does changing the air-filter help.

 

at least the mechanic does not make recommendation like performance air filter, Iridium spark plug or even full servicing etc which was my experience with most of the motortiam i visited in spore.

 

i was being informed that the more expensive Iridium spark plug main benefit is longer lifespan and it will be cheaper to get the standard spark plug and change it more often. there is no measureable different which we can detect other wise.

 

any good motortiam to recommend on your side?

my bike stock plug is NGK.

 

only complain against the mechanic is he dropped the plug:mad: i didn't ask for a new plug. no point spoiling relationship if i want to service there long term for a few bucks.

are the bike shops there familar with auto scooter? im riding a yamaha majesty and stay damn near woodlands custom.

wouldnt mind going in for servicing if shops there are good with my bike

AGL suck la. Go in further in JB if u really want good deal. I give an example. Full wave R coverset only 100RM, while AGL is charging 180-200RM for the same thing...

 

But i really love the shisha, burger and nasi ayam @ the restaurant next to the esso station
