Was reading thru ur posts.. the belting problem should be pretty common, cos gilerras also work the same way.

gotta be gentle o nthe 'take off' from the traffic lights. then it should halp ur belting last a lil longer.

 

Just like the chains on a roadwin, it would stretch due to 'hard' riding. but you see, the stretch is not so much (cos its metal) around 3-5mm per month. and chan slack is fine..

 

but belts, i not too sure how it works, but similarly, it stretches more that's why there's the rattling problem.

 

Pop over the Gilerra thread. perhaps it may give you a clue to how the transmission works.
