Hi all,

Just got a preowned Bone last month after passing my 2b, have been doing some research on it etc, bought it on my first look look see see trip to cka kaki bukit and really loving it! :) I don't really know any one else riding this scoot to discuss stuff with, or rather don't really have much friends who ride even lol.. don't even know most of the parts you all are talking about also sigh.. so far only installed a top box and underseat mesh.

Will be very grateful if I can be invited along with all you laojiaos if you guys are having any meetups etc to learn a thing or two about the bone or anything about bikes in general, if you don't mind a p-plate newbie tagging along lol. :p Thanks and have a great weekend!!!

Oh btw I stay in the west. :)

Hi,

Welcome to the thread. Just wonder urs is F.I or Carb. ?

Hihi thanks for reply! Should be Carb, it's the older model, fc doesnt seem to be as good as mentioned in some of the earlier posts. Is the performance on a stock bone with carb supposed to be weaker than F.I?

My bone break down at ECP yesterday afternoon. Only 1 month old. Toll back to CKA Bukit Batok, they told me is the rubber belt finish. I was like huh?? finish?? Then i keep on ask one of the staff what is the cause and why 1 month only the "rubber belt finish" but he never really answer me. Just told me that don't worry everything done. When i ride out from the workshop i still feel so uneasy. 90km/hr is my maximum speed never over 100km to play safe on the belt but don't know why yesterday will breakdown. Guys any idea? The bike suddenly had a pleak sound then the bike vibrate until can't really move on and there is like loosen sound from the back where the belt is store.

Bring your bike to kaki bukit the HQ. ur bike is still running in ?

btw there is no way the belt ended up like this...I have the belt for proven at least 12k and replaced it not long ago . it close to breaking off but was highlight to replace thou hahaha. I love to test the stock parts endurance.

my top speed shown in the speedo meter was 110 km on flat road. downhill 120 km.

(I did upgrade few stuff) Stock the bike is able to climb to 100 km

Important is how fast ur scoot can reach the 110 km that is more crucial than any other challenge.

GPS tested speed was , minus 10 km = car speedmoter.

either the belt is worn or the belt is sitting in there for a long period of time, install wrongly there are lots of stuff involved.

keep the spoilt belt therefore from there u can show it to the other mechanic.

From there they have a better picture.

Just my 2 cents.

Need any advice do let me know . willing to share with u my lab experiment from there u can save ur $$$.

First thing to change is your STOCK TYRES is a MUST TO CHANGE SAVA STOCK TYRES .... u can go to the HQ there can take a look at Metzeler .

You wont regret.

Hi,

If you ask me my prefer is carb. as it has more things to play. but u go for F.C then F.I will be better

Thx bro kakarow, must learn more from u if next time wanna play lol, but now still very noob, even want to play also dont even know the parts etc. My fc i think only about 25km per l, is that normal? Im told its stock when i bought it, i tend to be a little bit aggressive on the acceleration from stop at traffic lights but usually just travel abt 80-90kmh only on highway.

Wilson sorry to hear about ur bike, new one somemore must be damn sian. I had to tow mine to toh guan(nearest my house) just 1 week after i receive it. Saw a few patches of oil where i parked thought it was ok, later checked the engine oil screen at the bottom it was almost empty. I thought they were supposed to check all these stuff before selling, anyway didnt think much of it since it was pre owned sure to have a little bit of fault here and there. The mech said the same thing when i asked what is the fault he just said fixed already dont worry everything settled. Go back next day got oil spots again, lucky got a little bit of bicycle experience and like to fiddle with stuff so i did my own poking around here n there including crawling under the bike lol, found that a bolt under the belt was loose that can unscrew by hand, tightened it back and everything solved liao. I also found a screw on the body missing( that one not so important i think) but have replaced it.

Your shd be still covered under warranty right? I think the hq side has most stuff and most responsible, seems the other branches got different standards and services. I was enquiring about respraying the speedometer, was told by toh guan mech nobody spray that part.. but when i got it it was already sprayed white lol. Later enquired with hq side they quoted me in an instant for respraying that same part. Not trying to put down the branches, in fact they were pretty friendly and helpful but i just wondering if its a norm for them to have different standards? Hope u guys can shed some light on this thanks!

Just my 2 cents Coldr4 go to HQ Kaki bukit. it will solve 90% of our problems. Unless u yet give up hope. I give up hope coz a simple thing I wanna buy they cant even get it right at toh guan there.... i wait like a fool .... Most of the stock pile for b-bone is at HQ go there best place in service as well .

thats my own view.

Appreciate your advice Rain thx! Is toh guan reliable for general servicing? Noted on the parts better to do at hq, but say even regular servicing must bring there is a little far for the westsiders lol.. funny leh same company i tot they shd be able transfer parts to the branches etc. I can understand if the mechs have different skill levels but shouldnt the service they provide be standard one..

My mileage is reaching for servicing, need to correct some minor faults still thinking where to bring it to.

all in all , visit the HQ at kaki bukit for the 1st time ,then the following upcoming servicing u go to the westsiders branch. general servicing refers to ( changing of engine oil , oil filter + spark plugs ). by right shouldnt be a problem by left ... hmm.... unknown.

- Reason is dead simple if u saw a real live proof from your own eyes of their difference in servicing or any other stuff you can make the call .

Personally I prefer future scootering and kaki bukit branch. Moreover I'm a hands on man at times as I'm passionate in doing hands on in watever stuff. From there I can judge a mechanic skill . I do expect them to be better than me in terms of hands on stuff. btw I'm keen to learn stuff. Therefore is tough for me let my bone to service by the ppl I dont really trust in terms of skill and service.

Just my 2 cents. Sometime things are simple but , thinking simple comes with a price tag as well.

I did pay for the price tag at times. Therefore my expectation is higher each time. Else I do it mysel if I do have the time.

Are you going for the looks of ur scoot or the performance or both ? coldr4 ?

I went back to Bukit Batok today. Request the Mech to open up and check for me is it really fine. They told me, my belt rubber went of is because the new bike put it at the store for too long so the rubber get harden so easily broken. I saw they had replace a new belt. and service the parts. I bought the FR-Fender and the foot rest plate to install on my bone. So far if i'm riding alone i hit 100km, but if i'm pillion my wife the max i go 90km the bike vibrate hard. Never try over 100km before. Mine 1 litre = around 33km/l. Maybe one day wanna go kakit bukit and take a look.

That why we have to meet up guys.

Yeah i guess going the distance abit is worth it in exchange for a piece of mind, currently i need to fix up my left signal lights, sometimes it goes off for 3-5 secs then come on again when activated especially whenoving fast. I think im leaning more towards the look of the bike, since i bought it mainly because its so unique. :) agreed hands on gives you much satisfaction when the job is completed, wanted to get an artistic friend to help me with stencil art paint on the speedometer together but shes not free atm. im interested to learn about performance parts but my knowledge(as well as general motorbike experience since i just got my license not too long lol) is like close to 0 lol, so have to learn more from u guys!

I wonder how long they keep the bike before selling if the belt can actually harden. do you all meet up often and stuff just to chill etc in the past for all the laojiao b boners?:D

Hi Coldr4,

kakarow is the old bird hahaha. Me also a new bird. Currentty parts out in the market is too little in SG. I mean performing parts. Not much ppl know where to get it as well for certain stuff. I'm trying to figure things out as well.

Hi Wilson

Is their duty to replace it for free.

My 2 cents.

Performance parts... hmmm...

- Air-filter change to K&N or other racing scooter brands . The catch is u try it with a open air filter follow by installing it in a air box(plus modification to the air box only by experience and knowledge u will gain the most out of it) .

Air box is there for a reason . Dont try to out smart an engineer who design and build this. Even their racing scoot has an airbox. Do readup to understand the rational behind.

1st thing to notice is the feeling of the throttle & the response but the mileage will drop to 33 to 31 or 30km.

- Polini clutch. (only experience mechanic handle this !)

& at the same time change ur stock roller to dr pulley 11 grams or lower 9.5 or 10 grams.

Check if any **** mechanic put grease on the pulleys or rollers . Give em a hard screw and F em up .

Ur bike will starts dancing when moving off. Then u will start to pay the price $$$ to learn like me ...

-Change your sparkplugs wires to NGK or Naraku @ Scooter narcotics.

Dont trust any mechanic until they have proven they skills and knowlegde to you.

- I prefer Future scootering . They are the one who teaches me lots of stuff & fix up the shithole from other mechanics from other places.

- Stock SAVA tyres must change . Refer to the HQ at kaki bukit.

The Taiwan tyres not bad sticky but price on par with Metzeler (mileage wise is a give n take) Different rider habits & road conditions will determine the tyres overall mileage.

Personally this is a proven tough scoot I call it a tank.

U want performance and squeeze all our from this scoot then u need to feed it will racing products as for maintenance feed it with fully sythetic oils + iridums plugs + oil filter change. Brake fluid dot 4. Then you will get your payback.

Thanks for the imputs R_ain, helps alot to me when next time wanna change anything. I think u all got the bike for at least 2 yrs considered old birds already lol, seems like half the b boners use it as a transit bike to bigger class, mine about slightly more than 3 yrs and im the 3rd owner already lol.

I think most feasible thing for me to change is the tyres atm, hell i dont even know it is stock or not lol the front one got some korean words and the back is continental.

Hope the weather gets abit more predictable so can bring it out at night go eat eat wind, the last time i did i was caught in the very heavy rain from 1 to 5 am, froze my a** off lol.

Update today just brought my bone to cka TG since needed to run abit of errands at imm.. i think i can understand what u mean when u say dont trust any mechanic until they have proven their skills R_ain lol. 2nd tow back in 6 weeks when i reached home.. bike couldnt start, the electric starter totaly not working. Happened when i was about to ride off from there, mech came to fiddle fiddle abit then say all ok. Turned out not ok then tow back less than an hr later lol. Because i had to change the whole light switch on the left side, so apparently the wiring never do properly -_-". Go back there when it was fixed see the mech who attended to me being scolded by the senior mech and the in charge, felt abit sorry for him lol.

Changed to the metzeler tyres, mech said the recommended pressure shd be 250 for front and 270 for back. Sounds a little bit high to me.. bros running the metzeler tyres how much u all usually pump? Thx!

tat's too high. follow to the guide book .On my end, 220 front 230 back with pillon. Once a month check your tyre pressure. Ask that Ass to fly kite ! ur Tyres did indicate the recommend pressure as well no worries. It's totally simple is not your bike issues is someone who u trust CMI la.

Else Y the hell it break down...

Coldr4 no matter how good the scoot is when comes to a lousy Mechanic ur bike will always face issues. I Given up hope on ppl. Dont Trust my words . Go to HQ and have a overall check up if u in doubt. Talk to the mechanic in-charge of there. If Installation and troubleshooting Half-past 6 U will tow again and again ended up u think this scoot is **** . But is not that case. Bro I full throttle from Jurong to Simei and back to Jurong Maintaining a speed mostly is 110km to 100km(B-bone speedometer). No Issues at all. I salute the to Daelim !!! I dont think most of the bike can withstand my abuse. Heehee !!!

I trust your advice la bro thats why changed to metzeler lol, i think he really pump that much leh, i felt like i was floating abit (maybe contact with the road is less due to the over inflation) like machiam riding with sotong tyres or those on a bicycle, went to the petrol kiosk to bleed out some air now feels better. Scared of that place liao man. The round thing around the keyhole ignition also kena chipped off abit when he pry open with screwdriver, heart pain abit but guess using some touch up paint can solve it(mine is gold around that part).

Curious why u riding bone lol, u used to ride Sp right? Thats quite a difference. :p or is it a norm when get older will start playing ard with scooter and safer options lol

Bros,

Tyes pressure should be around 220 to 230 (single rider) 240 for two person and hope that this help
