Just an advise for the tbs session....

Prepare 1) 0ne super long nose plier or

2) a special 'L' shaped screwdriver for tuning

3) few metres of small rubber tubing / hose ... so that u can make an permanent extension for the TBS tuner.

 

Its gd to have the session at an open air shaded deserted carpark rather than a multi storey cos Mark supertrap will be inviting the police then.

Hi, can anyone point me to a local suzuki parts dealer? Am looking for DL650 handguards, 04' onwards. Any idea how much they cost? Thanks

DL650 handguards need to order from US...

 

DL1000 handguards might have stock...

 

can check with suzuki agent.. Guan Hoe..

Guan Hoe do have the handguards but that's it, purely the handguards without the mounting screws, bar end bolts, nuts and spacer. U will have a hard time looking for all those stuff. Best deal is to order it from the US. Will work out to ard 90-100SGD depending on where u order from.

yes,idling very irregular after bike warm up.brought 2 bike n scooters,ok 4 a while after dat come back again.y ah?is it bcoz inside fuel tank got water go in.coz lately its raining.previously never cover bike, only recently juz bot bike cover.sorry ah des.still got 2 trouble u asking questions abt the bike even after 3mths.hehe.yr after sales service v gd.

idling of rpm unstable might be becoz of the GIPRO.. cos i sometime find it too low. so i adjust the idling high abit.. then after sometimes it goes down again.. (automatic) ,, i suspect its the GIPRO doing it,,. coz it happens since i install GIPRO when i just bought the bike.

 

as for water going into tank.. it will feel slurp in power. sometime no power during riding like no fuel going into the engine. if u dun feel that then i dun think there's water in tank...

 

if wan can try to cut piece of plastic to slot into the tank bra when the tank cap is to prevent water going in.. thats just a precaution..

Unstable idle speed is often related to blown off intake boots, wrong TBS adjustment, or engine valves in need of adjustment.

guan hoe only sells the DL1k guards..$30 a pair.

best bet for dl650 guards would be ordering online,we ordered ours online..goto http://www.ebay.com and get yours bro..

and yes,the DL1k guards DO NOT fit the DL650 :)

The DL1000 has a hydraulic clutch, the DL650 has a cable clutch. Handguard does not fit. In general one has to be careful. Suzuki made the two biles look-alike, but they are in fact two different bikes. This is important when ordering parts. Fastest way usually is http://www.bikebandit.com .

so are u still keeping the bike..?

 

Initially I had wanted to trade the bike in for a DR650, but after this trip, I'm having second thoughts. I would say it had handled way better than my expectation.

 

But I'm still toying with the idea of trading it in. Still considering, most probably will reach a decision after Chinese New Year, I totally need my big box for helmets.

$30? cool... i saw the ebay auctions claiming they tried fitting with no problems tho, but not sure is 1k can fit 650 or the other way round
