ASAP >> I decided not to make any claims lah...If canclaim, Have to pay excess about $1.3K...Wic is also roughly the cost of repairs.. Mite as well pay e repairs frm my own pocket n save all e hassles, n also save my premium.. i think. :|

Agree. Juz do what benefits u the most.

is it true? heard frm a few others also saying so...

Not certainly sure on that. I also dun thk there's fine print stated in the insurance policy they give us that says under what circumstances can we claim when a bike catches fire. But I must say when things happen and when we wanna claim, they will produce the finest prints of the policy in their favour.

Next time i renew my insurance I'll query them on this.

from experience, it is very hard for strommers to gather in local meets, not to mention about one day trip and trip to thailand.

but you can always find trips organised by others...:cheeky:

Cstay66 - i picked Black but still got one more black!!! Din see the Blue one today.

I can;t take the bike as Mr Lee says LTA has not given the paper work so cannot take bike.. there goes the durian plantation ride.

Also. Want to know how to break-in new bike. Heard differently from other sources its best to accelerate and decelerate hard in the first few k to seal in the seals... totally at odds with the factory recommendations.

Loois Package price is 17.5k, OTR. I guess I tan dio lah now COE 1.5k.

So anymore strommies going for the 3NCR ?

black is great. :D

2 weeks for paperwork? looi's needs to work faster.

durian trip can wait. the subsequent trips up north will have plenty of durians waiting.

for the break-in, just follow the manual recommendation. i oso forgot what it says.

17.5k is hard to come by with abs.

3ncr for strommies? got to wait for al-simmons to organise, he is the chief.

Well , I m interested for the 3NCR , but then again there are many groups organising this ride , each having their own plans and itenery . and of cos they cost differently

For e.g

Moto V - going 3 island hopping from 18 -26 Oct ( include Phuket and Koh Samui)

SgBike.com - 19 - 25 Oct Koh samui

So the question is , Can we organise our own group ride cater to our own plan but being able to join the 3NCR dinner and receive the tshirts too ?

Any other recommendations ?

I believe we can arrange to go ourselves. It will be better as we can easily follow each other speed even though 650 or 1000.

I will try to come out with a plan. But it will take a while. Those who have anything in their mind can contribute first. As u all know, i'll be in ICT so will not be so active in this forum. 3D 2N sounds good.

Some hotels to recommend (actually this is the only hotel i've been to).

This year 3NCR will be held at Surat Thani ,Thailand on the 24 & 25th Oct (Fri & Sat) . Event fee pegged at Thb1200 per person ; which include 1 ride tshirt , 1 event tshirt , lunch during event ride and also the Grand dinner . lodging is not included .

Al-Simmons: That hotel rooms looks good enough. Hopefully u still have their contacts. also hope that they r not fully book . Maybe we will need Woody's help.

But I find that 3days 2 nite is abit short since the event itself will takes 2 nites. Can i proposed to go a day or two earlier and return home to Spore on the 26 Oct (Sun).Well Surathani is only 1200km away.

I'm quite easy going on the Hotel. Just the parking for the bike... make sure its safe.

not to worry about parking...

it's much much safer than parking in malaysia..

especially if u park ur bike in groups....and especially big bikes..

they will not disturb..

at most the pose and take pictures...

3d 2n sounds great to me.

but hor seeing the rest organised the trip in a stretch of 6-7 days must hav its very reason. 3d 2n can be tough for all, esp those who hav yet to make long trips before.

anyway, i am upz for the trip if we can keep it short. :D

worry for your new bike oledi.

that's common concern for new owner.

but vstrom is not a popular bike in singapore or malaysia or thailand, so no one will want to steal this bike. :)

1200km one way is far.

may be stop at hatyai for one nite before surat thani. and stay another night at hatyai before back to singapore.

instead of 2 nites in surat thani, may be one nite will do. so total 4d 3n. if we are travelling in the nite to hatyai, then we cut down one day to 3d 3n. back on the 26 oct.

just a suggestion. :D
