hey nitro, me found a 2001 fu plate model by private party going at 13.8k. is it ok to buy fr private, u found urs yet? any major problems 4 e 2001 model?

 

Pai, the price looks pretty attractive. I have been looking around and calling up motordiams, all FU plate cost around $15K. Only private are willing to go below $15K.

 

Have you seen the bike? What color is the Bike?

 

- Mileage

- Accessories

- Condition of tyres and etc?

 

Cant help you much on the EFI for different years, you might want to ask the BB owners/experts here.

 

I guess, i will resort to Motordiam, cos can trade in my Shadow600.

 

One d@mn thing pulling back from the purchase. even though I can afford to pay cash @ one sort. The premiuns for insurance for a Hypersports is a Killer, I am really hate to pay so much for the insurance when i have not made a claim in my whole 12 years of riding history.

 

Post a picture/ forum of your bike when you got it okie?

Comprehensive will set u back about 2k+ abit.

TPFT will cost you about 900 to 1k

TP will cost about 600

pai, 13.8k for a 01 model sounds good. As far as I know, there are no major problems for the 01 model (or maybe not yet). The biggest problem might be the complaints from surrounding ppl, neck pain cos its a headturner. :P

since you dad have more than 30 yrs riding experience, why not consider comprehensive? Maximum protection at the lowest price.

 

Anyway if just 3rd party could be around the range of $400. Not really sure man, its best u check it out with the insurance company.

Put in 39-40 psi for our climate. Or even lower to your own preferences la.

 

il4 did advise me that local climate not suitable for what is stated on the chain guard.

I was looking for quite a while for one and then settled for the busa in the end. Not too sorry about it though. Can I join in on your bb outting? all you'd need is a zx12 pilot for a full house!

To answer nitro's question;

 

I never rode the bird but sitting on both of them at Loois show room (not at same time of course), there's not much in it me-thinks.

 

The bird suited me (i thought) because its has conservative air about it which does not attract too much atention, and I like smooth. If the Bird was a car it would be a BMW M5 or something like that.

 

Before I bought it, the busa struck me as the viper of the bike world, a bit loud, a bit outrageous maybe even vulgar in its single mindedness (top speed and all that) boy-racer, not me really.

 

All that is image and preconception, once I rode the busa it's immediatly confidence inspiring, a big ****** cat, top speed only a foot note really. The joy of the busa is about having power low in the revs, there's no need to raise a sweat, its a joy even after 4 month and 10k and this bike is 4y old and probably past its best.

I was in charge of servicing vehicles during my NS days.

 

In general, don't believe everything you read from the Internet. The only guys who really know what they are talking about are the mechanical engineers. Not the bike mechanics, lao jiao riders, bike shops, "honda guys", race riders etc.

 

These mechanical engineers help Honda write the User Manual. So just follow the instructions in the User Manual.

I would like to post this qns to all the BB owners.

 

"What make you to get a BB instead of a HayaBusa?"

 

Paisey, have been asking so many qns in this BB thread where i don't even own a BB. Have been looking for a BB for a couple of months, now quite prepared to but as my work contract has been renewed.

 

Initially was hestitating between a CBR954 and a BB, finally prefer BB more, as someone in this thread mentioned it is more like a BMW if it is compared to a car.

 

However, I have been to a few Showroom or rather Motortiams, was also quite attracted by HayaBusa. Thus rite now, heart kind of indecisive.

 

Last but not least how is BB compared to Haya for the followings :

1.) Maintenace

2.) Problems History

3.) Performance

4.) Road tax

 

Appreciate for your kind replies.
