Missing O-ring in chain master link

Hi, anyone encountered a missing o-ring in the chain master link. Will this cause alignment problems of the chain and sprocket. Or feel loss of tension and "power".

 

There is suppose to be 4 addtional o-rings for installation on the chain master link, 2 on inside and 2 on outside.

No... the purpose of the O rings or X rings is to seal in the grease and keep the roller pins from drying out.

 

No O rings means that part of the chain is just like a normal non O ring chain which won't last that long thats all.

 

But how do you link loss of tension and 'power' to this?? I read I also blur.

In chains with master link, the master link is the weakest link, so it doesn't help to have missing O-rings to seal in the grease.

The pulling of the chain and the sliding of the pin is on a different axis. It shouldn't affect the power. Anyway the O Ring purpose is to seal up the grease inside the pin. Once grease gone, you will mostly likely have dead link, which will accelerate the wear and tear of the chain.

Juz get the links from eversuccess for like $7. comes wif 4 o rings and u can choose the clip on stle or the rivet style. wasy to install, juz nid a grinder and f clamp.
