Bros,

I did posted sometime back where I have this "brrrrr.." fluttering sound from my bike, which seemed like coming from somewhere in front.

I have checked for loose connections and couldn't find anything.

This "fluttering" sound will appear somewhere between 2000 - 2200 rpm, and only on the move.

I read on the net where other bikes also experienced this at different rpm.

Suggestions given were to checked the head-light compartment, where there are those connectors which could be vibrating against the casing and to put some kind of insulator.

Tried that but no help.

I have been ignoring this for quite a while.

Yesterday I experimented with different tyre pressure.

Usually i did 36psi in front and 38-39 rear.

Well yesterday I did 42 at the rear and the fluttering sound seemed to disappeared and ride feel much better.

Another lesson learnt.

Cheers

Bro, i think my bike is also having the same 'bbrrrr' sound at the headlight area. Like a rattling sound but when i ride fast, the sound disappears... I tot it comes from the speedometer area... issit? Screws, nuts, bolts no tightened maybe? Anyway, wanna ask u guyz, can i transfer a tyre from a s4 to our xjr? Cos i'm buying myself 1 pair of tyres from a s4 rider. Measurements shudn't be a prob rite?

I am keeping my ear open wide to hear if that brrrr sound is back.

If if come back, I think I'll get ear-plug!!!!!

you guys fixed the wind shield right....? isit leaning against the speedo meter? If you guys noticed i have my wind shield attached with a mounting tape(sponged double side tape) where it contacts to the speedo meter.. Why the brr...sound is because the speedo n rev meter is joined to a center piece which is den secured to two bolts which has a thick piece of rubber which acts as shock absorbers for the meters....if you noticed that if you guys hit an uneven road the meters will start bouncing...But when on the move when i explained about revtec product i mentioned that i could feel my tank vibrate is at 6-8 rpm or when moving off...Why the vibrate?? valve opens..the petrol consumption is vaccumed and mixed together with air when moving off and when final valve is open is when hit the throttle hard giving it more compression forcing more air to get thru and thus the vibration occur..try my conclusion.... coz i realise that this theory on my trip to mersing then....the brr sound only started when i had the wind shield fixed on...

For those who dont have windshield than its the keys or mayb loose plastic to plastic contact....

Ahhh... the brrrr is back.

I had this brrrr even without the windshield.

The vibrating sound you mentioned above is when you really open up throttle, right?

That brrrr sound is much louder then my brr sound.

My brrr sound is not that loud.

It appear if you go steady at 2000-2200 rpm, but if you throttle fast, its not there.

Really puzzling me where the heck its coming from!

how bout your iu unit? is it in contact to the meter? or you also can check that part where throttle cable is linked to the carb...pull the throttle the cable will pull lever infront of carb...there is a screw there which may loosen itself....

did the sound even came before u serviced carb...?
