Guys, is there anyway to track a cash card owner?

I found a cash card on the road on the way out of the car park.

At first thought I dropped it, because it's the same as mine.

But when I open my wallet, my card still there.

So how do I return to the owner?

u can't, because they're not registered at anywhere to the owner. just like a $10 note, unless the owner knows the serial n claim from u, u can't really know who the real owner is.

unless it's the orange laser card, where the owner registered it's insurance. perhaps u can trace from the insurance, but then the owner can always claim from insurance, so better u keep, happy for both parties.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Give to the police station. Do NOT use it!!

FYI, if the owner reports it missing, he can always trace his cash card number if he tops up using ATM. If you're traced using it, you have some answering to do.

But I have to give you credit for being an honest person..... Very rare nowadays...

Cheh!! Wasn't my reply self-explanatory?? Give it to the police laaa... They'll hand it over to NETS who'll try and trace the owner.

Kee! Kee! What if the owner never topped up before, and cannot trace? :D

Will the police keep the card for themself ?

The card is Orange with a small rainbow and a semi circle of orchid on the top.

Nah ! Keep as souvenier very wasted, I checked the card, and it still has $16 in it.

Think the owner would like to have it back.

Aiyo, like that like going so far to return back to the owner.. And who knows the police might even think nothing of it and just use it themselves? :cheeky:

Like cash, it is considered lost. It can be picked up and used by anybody.

As CashCards are anonymous and needs no registration, the CashCard Online Payment System is unable to detect and deactivate your lost CashCard even if a report is made on its lost.

Orange cashcard looks like this.

I suspect TS's card is old type call blue orchid or something like that, there's no insurance.

For insurance, u can always make up stupid excuse like u forgot to lock ur car, I suspect u need to follow up with police report.

no offence for being honest, but picking up cashcard is like picking up cash, unless u're so free to stand there n wait for the owner to come looking, or the other way is for the owner to know the serial num, most of us won't go take down the long serial just for $20 card.

giving to police will likely to give no result, police might tell u to just keep it, or u make a report n they put there until it rots, worse case the police keep for themself.

TS, if ur guilty consience for picking up cash, u prob shouldn't pick it up in the 1st place, but think about it, others will pick up n use for their own purpose. or to ease ur guilt, i can always admit i'm the owner.

Ok, here a pic of the cash card before I hand it over to the police.

A cash card left on a road will get so badly scratch by the end of the day, it will be unusable if nobody picks it up.

So must take lah!

But if the police cannot trace to find back the owner, and will keep for their own use, I rather keep it.

If you try to get a refund for the cash card you picked up, and that serial number has been given to NETS by the owner who lost it, then you're going to have some explaining to do.

He who hesitates is lost!
