I just made a trip there. Betong-Gerik-Bailing route.

 

Scenary was beautiful. Fun corners to play. And a very memorable visit to the Piyamit tunnels.

wow... nice blog man....When I first went up to the flower garden the road was 100x worse and did you see the "beware of deer" signboard on the grik-baling-kulim new highway?

I see. I think they have not fully completed the road. I saw a tractor midway. But those completed stretch does look very nice.

 

Now that you mention it, yes, I think I saw the deer sign but didn't think much about it. Because in Gerik Route 4 stretch has beware of elephant sign, but I didn't see any elephants

hee..hee...I think they are nocturnal. I've seen a deer crossing a kampung road there long long time ago and it was big as an adult cow... not like the size goat as I always imagine

ha..ha...just came back from a day trip..arrived at 1 pm ..out 3 pm...Betong is full of fruits..durian, rambutan, dokong, pulasan, and petai ..oppss....

Not a good ideal cos NE monsoon at the east coast at this time of the year(Nov). Not only that it will be a wet wet ride.

Last last year I rode up mersing (tioman) 3 times in September, it was still ok.

 

I ask travel agent about redang, they say still ok to go now

and accepting booking now.

At the moment it's a no no...you can stick to the highway from Sg Golok to Songkhla/Hatyai but what's the point right? The best part of South Thailand are the ppl, the kampung road, the beach and the FOOD...

Bro booked hotel liao huh? Actually planned to go with another group to Hatyai but so many changes I decided to go betong instead. Leave taken on 3rd. So leaving on 1st early morning izzit? Let me know if confirm going.
