Hi Fellow Tourers,

 

I am no hadrcore tourer myself, but I do have a suggestion in response to the Hatyai bombing.

 

Instead of spending the entire itinerary in Hatyai, it would make more sense to split up the trip.

 

One day in a M'sia city / tourist area(Ipoh, Penang , Redang / Perhentian) etc, Thereafter ride, bypassing the entire south Thailand cities and head for Phuket or Koh Samui (via Surat Thani?).

 

These places are infinitely safer and well protected.

 

Timing will then become an issue as the distance gets longer. I am sure some of you want to take a few days off to extend than to justcramp everything into 4 days?

 

Please comment and provide your opinions.

I am planning to have a tow truck follow & stand by service though out the ride, any objections?

 

Btw, per bike cost around S$28 base to 20 - 25 bike, if more bikes is involve, it will be cheaper too..

 

If anyone bike breakdown, whelter you are at thai border or penang or Ipoh or Malacca, you just need to pay a extra of RM250 to tow back to GP Esso.
