my mech told me, if u use good brake pads or even OEM pads, will have sound cos very rough, use normal ones not so rough not much sound compared to the previous. so are u using good ones?

u can tell if ur pad is very rough, the disc will be faded metal colour, if ur pad is less rough, ur disc is shiny one. that also he said.. using OEM pads, noisy+faded disc. hmm. he said change to EBC also will have sound.. ask me change sbs if dun want the sound and it will be shiny too.

i dunno how true is that... but judging from his age+experience i think he might be right....

But this sound is not like machinary metal to metal type of sound... This sound is more like electrical buzzing sound... Heh.. The faster i go, the louder it gets but will reach to a certain point where I cant hear anymore because of the wind blowing and my pipe. And if i apply front brakes also the sound more louder. Only if I slowed down, then the sound fades slowly...

i think i encounter same problem before. last time when i want to move off after stop at traffic light, the bike got difficulties moving off (like the bike dying off). close throttle and open again then can. i went to wash my carb and my mech told me is because of the overflow pin spoil already. change the pin, tune and wash. now okie already. but if you don't want to spend the money, just throttle once before you moving off. that's what my mech told me.

cheers!

No lah brudder... Spec III got ABS meh? When I took over this bike last year May, don't have this sound. I realise only after I changed new tires few months ago, and I changed to local brake levers, then this sound suddenly got. But this sound never affect my handling. It only affect my braking. I need to press harder on my front brakes then it'll take effect. I just changed brake pads but still the same. My braking and the sound still have. :faint:

Hi all,

I just got my 2A license, and my fren's father is selling his S4 vtec1 to due to his medical condition. :(

He is selling me @ $3,800, COE just renewed last month.

however, the bike has not been started for approximately 6 to 7 mths o_O. Due to this the bike cannot start when i have gone down to view recently.

And also his father mentioned that the bike might have some difficulty starting in the morning. The solution to this is to engage 2nd gear and push front n back a few times, then the bike can start.

Does anyone know what is the cause of it? o_O

I need your comments on whether the bike might have any problems in future if i take over as the engine has not been fired up for more than 6mths, and also, is the price reasonable. :p

A few points to add on: The paintwork is not v well done as there is 2 vertical lump of excessive paint near the fuel tank protection sticker/guard area. The seat lock seems to be faulty because the seat can be easily removed without the key. :( But overall, the bike has been very well taken care of except the above mentioned. :thumb:

Any replies/feedbacks/comments is greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance. :p

i felt that as long as engine and some major part is working fine then worth it, $3.8k and let say i willing to spend 1k to repair and total up $4.8k for a good condition s4 with 10 yr coe i find it worth it

u can try push start and check the engine those, and if he allow u to ride around the carpark then see got any funny noise....

paintwork if u wan do around $250 and above

seat lock maybe can change 2nd hand one i think should be expensive as long as not changing with ur ignition but u got to use diff key to open

i feel that the bike have problem start can due to a few reason

carb not well tuned

charging problem

batt problem

u can try turn abit throttle and start and see if work

i tried 3 days nv start bike but bike still able to start when i tried to

i dunno whether engine will have problem in future due to long time nv start

but base on theory the engine nv start = no wear and tear and i think inside part wont rust due to have eo inside ? not really sure about it
