Hellooo guys!

wanna ask afew qns and its gonna be long! hope u all can help me out!

the story goes like this. im in NS now so for the past 4 -5 months my bike starts only on weekends

so here comes my qn.

1. is there any side effects if i only ride on weekends? like parts/ electrical stuffs may spoil?

2. Chain. i've changed a RK X-ring last oct and now it starts to deform. will there be a possibility that its because i never really ride on weekdays?

and in your opinion should i get back a x-ring or jus change to a normal o-ring would do? because im afraid that i might change my chain again very quickly due to deforming of my chain

3. My voltmeter (nowadays) sometimes dont start up when i turn on my bike (yet to start) and only comes up after i start my bike.

4. previously my bike takes only 1time to start. no matter hot/cold weather but nowadays it takes 2-3 times to start. is there going to be a problem popping out?

5. my iding usually is arnd rpm 1 but nowadays its below it. any problem on that too?

that should be all! hope it isnt too much for you all to ans! hahas!

thanks

Cheers!

Have your bike cover up to protect from weather environmental elements like rain and dust that may get into your key hole and other small opening like switches etc.

2. Chain. i've changed a RK X-ring last oct and now it starts to deform. will there be a possibility that its because i never really ride on weekdays?

There is no such thing as chain getting "deform"..unless rust you meant..moreover you are not using it that often and there should be as much wear and tear?..can you explain in descriptive form what is "deform"?:sian:

3. My voltmeter (nowadays) sometimes dont start up when i turn on my bike (yet to start) and only comes up after i start my bike.

Sign of battery getting weak in its 'cold' status'. Proper grounding helps to some extend.

4. previously my bike takes only 1time to start. no matter hot/cold weather but nowadays it takes 2-3 times to start. is there going to be a problem popping out?

Your fuel in tank is loosing out ron's value (octane)and water condesation is taking place in the empty tank spaces.

5. my iding usually is arnd rpm 1 but nowadays its below it. any problem on that too?

Drop in Octane level in fuel, corrosion in carb's component and spark plugs electro area contributes to such symptom. :sian:

hello ah pek! thanks for answering

for pt1. i park my bike @ sheltered area so i assume it will be fine? hahas!

for the chain part. i notice and tried that some parts of the chain is tighter and when i turn the wheel again then some part of the chain is "looser". and sometimes i can feel like my chain is jumping when im slowing down or half clutch-ing.

i've got a 5pt grounding so i assume my battery is weak now?

for pt 4&5 can i try to pump 98 instead of 95 instead to see how it goes?

once again thanks ah peK!

Part one is fine then. Part 2..meaning your chain stretched and that's normal for certain part slacking more then the other. The chain just changed in last year Oct can be that bad and moreover u seldom use it. I can only thing that your chain slack need to be adjusted.

5 point grounding if wrongly done actually make ur battery discharge more. ..worst, that's..done more harm then helps. I have seen a lot done by mototiam all wrong. Point grounding are for cars only.

Stick to 95, having 98 is a waste of $s for a S4 due to engine compression ratio....get a bottle of Octane Booster instead and add only WHEN NECESSARY.:sian:

Hi can anyone advise me what are the costs on super4 maintanence? Thanks a lot

Kind of difficult to answer that as "maintainence" means a lot of things...can you be more specific?:sian:

i pump 250 front 290 rear. with pillion and topbox.

Can be adjusted using the idling in between the carbs.

I have a 8 months old used Yoshi-TriOval. Fits any model of S4. Interested, pm me.

If you are from CL2A moving to CL2A and intend to buy a 400cc regardless of any brand..expect to spend much more in maintenance. S4 has 4 pieces of 100cc engine. As to reply ur question genically...all S4 are alike but how each does for you is a "subjective matter"..meaning..no two S4 mainteance are the same..so is the rider weight and style of riding. Basically..get a good condition one, chain to good eo timely and take care of coolant system and it last you a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong time and save a lot.

Not that it's good or bad but a waste of $$s. Our bike engine capacity compression ratio don't need that..95 is just great. But if you going away for two weeks holiday..Vpower is good..of course there is a reason for it..that's the Ron value is higher and help in better sustaining the condition of the fuel.:sian:

Not true...u better get a new thermostat and put it back. The Japanese don't give u a thermostat for nothing. It could have save them millions of $s if every S4 don't need one in the first place.:sian:

Hi guys my S4 spec1 handlebar vibrates like mad when I ride. Is this normal? Can i get a stabiliser or something? Where do I get something like that?

cheers!

try changing to heavier bar ends (balancers).. if its wobbling.. try to tighten the steering cone..

Do you guys notice the CB400 bikes engine chasis number gets kind of faded over time, my spec 2 is 7 years old and its getting bit dull and I’m kind of worried, my neighbor who used to own a spec 2 said LTA forced him to scrap his bike because 1 of the number in the chasis was faded and not very clear (ambiguous).

If any of you have solutions or input please reply.
