don't think we need to worry about arsenal stealing him...they're too cash strapped to afford him...

Players won't be attracted to Arsenal, unless they are young. If they are already at their peak or near there, why would they choose Arsenal when their pay package is not as good as the other big clubs.

I don't deny Arsenal's ability to groom youngsters, but money wise, there are better choices. If not why the depature of Flamini and more other likely to follow?

Huntelaar will wish to be at OT definately. But it's still a question mark whether the deal can work out.

Ronaldo backs Blatter's 'slavery' comments

Updated: July 10, 2008, 11:15 PM UK

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has backed FIFA president Sepp Blatter's condemnation of 'modern slavery' in the modern game.

When asked about Ronaldo's long-mooted prospective transfer to Real Madrid, Blatter yesterday suggested that there was a trend towards treating players like slaves in the transfer process.

His comments have been met with criticism in some areas, with Professional Footballers' Association chairman Chris Powell calling for him to retract the comments while UEFA president Michel Platini reacted by highlighting the spiralling wage demands of players.

But Ronaldo, who is currently recovering from ankle surgery after taking part for Portugal in Euro 2008, has failed to commit himself to United and has given mixed messages about Real's obvious interest.

He has now supported Blatter's stand, but refused to shed any more light on the proposed transfer.

'I agree with the comments of the president of FIFA. What he said is right,' he told Portuguese channel TVI.

'At the moment there is no agreement with Real Madrid. We have to wait for the next few days to see, but I do not know where I will begin next season.

'This is all I have to say at the moment.'

Regarding his injury, the winger confirmed he would be out for as long as three months but remained upbeat about his rehabilitation.

'I'm very well. I'm optimistic. My recovery is going well. Everything is fine.'

Have we treated him like a slave?

Relax!

Blatter, Platini, all this S O Bs are the trashes of football. Football is done on the field, not behind air conditioned offices. These fat slobs shoudl just shut their mouths up and retire for good.

I believe there's no use to restrain a player once he loses his interests with current club.

Even if the club decides to employ him & reject all advances for him, hw long is it going to be?

Another issue similar to that fellow chelski player, who was kept even w/o a squad no. but still paid to lay ard till the bosman ruling reach?

If CR thinks he can further his ideas abroad, let him go..

Let him see where the real club is..

It's all just a deal waiting to be happen. Unless SAF or anyone can turn his brains ard. I rather he might as well go.

The club will still go on with or without him.

woow..with the latest craze in the CR transfer trial.I hope he'll be gone and condemn aft that. He's craving for the MOOLA which real madrid is pouring onto him. With high wage = high expectancy in delivering performance and GOALs. if he doesnt, he can say gd bye to Real Madrid and Portugal.

Just look at DB now..

If I hesitate, Push me

There's a tinge in me that Roman and Co is behind all this.

Roman is trying to reap MUFC of the current squad and making

all MUplayers unrest due to this,so that Chelsea will be easy off retaining the title next season.

  • Just look at this if Real Madrid is looking for a STAR STUDDED PLAYER why arent they chasing for any Chelsea players then (they arent bad afterall) ?

  • Scolari also reported to pshyced CR from leaving MUFC(afterwhich he denied),why?

  • And Chelsea is doing quite well at the moment, the news of Lampard and Drogba leaving is utter bullcrap ( thats what i predict ) and its part of the early MIND GAME. In a matter of time they will prevail to pledged themselves to Chelsea forever.

Roman can die with all the BLUE BLUE BOYS.

CR CAN BE THE JUDAS OF SOCCER BUT NO FANS WILL TURN THEIR BACK AGAINST THEIR BELOVED CLUB.GLORY GLORY MANCHESTER UNITED!

If I go Forward, Follow me

If I hesitate, Push me

If they kill me, Avenge me

If I'm a traitor, Kill me

Queiroz appointed as boss of Portugal

Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has been appointed as the new head coach of Portugal.

Queiroz has agreed a four-year contract and is to be presented to the media on Wednesday.

The 53-year-old former Real Madrid coach will take full responsibility for all aspects of Portugal's national teams, including oversight of the youth teams.

He was previously coach of Portugal's Under-20 teams from 1990 to 1993.

'Carlos Queiroz is unquestionably one of the top Portuguese coaches and was my first choice to be head coach,' said Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) president Gilbert Madail.

'Although I have never worked with him because he was no longer with the national set-up when I arrived, I have followed his career with much interest and the experience he has gained in all the places he has worked will be important in helping us achieve the success we want.'

It's important for him to stay as Ronaldo had a very good relationhip with him.

With Carlos Queiroz now gone, maybe Ronaldo also wanna follow...

its best for ronaldo to go. no point staying wen he's heart was not in united colours. as for C.Q, united r in need to appoint SAF no.2 who can gives united like what C.Q has done for 4 yrs.
