Read the TNP today. What a class act by MU's very own Anderson giving his pair of boots to a fan. The boy cried in joy. Anderson did not have to and was not instructed to but gave it away on his own will. Lucky fan. Anderson had always impressed me ever since he "schooled" Fabregas last season!

Reds close in on Tevez deal

Carlos Tevez will sign a permanent deal with the club before the end of the year, according to United chief executive David Gill.

Gill confirmed the Reds have reached a deal with Tevez's owners MSI that will turn his current loan deal into a permanent move.

Tevez netted 19 goals in his first season at Old Trafford as United sealed a glorious double and Gill insists it was always the club's intention to offer the Argentine a long-term deal.

"We have spoken to Carlos and see him as part of our long-term squad," revealed Gill. "We have been pleased with his first season. He is a good age - a great player and well liked within the team.

"We know what we have to do and what we have to pay. The only issue is that we would have to sort out a long-term contract for him.

"But it's not a problem - we can do it in September, October, November or December. Sir Alex has explained it to him and he is very comfortable with it."

Good publicity for himself too. Smart move.

Looks like Tevez got what he wanted. But, I wondered if he got a hairdryer from SAF himself?

Manchester United winger Eagles joins Burnley

Manchester United winger Chris Eagles has joined Championship club Burnley on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee believed to be in excess of £1million.

Eagles, 22, joined the Premier League champions at the age of 14 but has failed to establish himself as a regular part of Sir Alex Ferguson's first-team plans.

And despite being prominent in United's pre-season campaign, scoring against Kaizer Chiefs and Portsmouth on their tour of Africa, Eagles has finally called time on his Old Trafford career.

The Red Devils academy graduate, who enjoyed previous loan spells at Watford, Sheffield Wednesday and Dutch outfit NEC Nijmegen, becomes Burnley's sixth summer signing.

Promising but not up to MU's level of requirements. It's a little sad to see him go but that's how football functions there. Those from youth academy must not only be good, they must be a class above all to make it to the first team.

its difficult to promote youth to senior squad nowadays because clubs like liverfool and chelsea had been buying too many players..if SAF took the risk like what he did when he promote scholes, giggs, beckham back then, then manutd cant challenge for the title

i tink the last 1 fm their youth squad was Fletcher rite?? but he's nt even a regular ...

To me just get rid of Ronaldo if he ain't got the heart to play. You may be the best but if you don't have the heart to play also no point make our S-league player look like world class player. Latest news, Geylang United is buying Christiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo say he would love to play for a S-league club

Rooney was from Everton youth academy. Eagles looked a little small in frame to me, probably the reason for lacking in aggressiveness. If he were to bump into Tevez or Rooney, he would probably fly.

Hello to you too. Be active in this thread ya?

Need a bit of luck too...

Been quite a while since they last promote youth to senior squad.

Times are hard. The league is too competitive for clubs to allow time for nuturing their youngsters.

ya jus like wes brown .. he has luck when gary is injuried which gif him the chance .. den Eagle do not hav tt and to man utd a right mid take a ver important role which eagle do not up to it. he is promising only when he is less den 20 yrs old but he is ardy 22 n he is nt as gd as anderson who was 19 .. i m happy for him tt alex sold him to let him to do more ..

It's better to get a half completed product and mould it into a complete one, like Ronaldo, Anderson, Nani etc. Costs more but reaps faster and better results.

;4519807']its difficult to promote youth to senior squad nowadays because clubs like liverfool and chelsea had been buying too many players..if SAF took the risk like what he did when he promote scholes' date='giggs, beckham back then, then manutd cant challenge for the title[/quote']

It took a few years for them to flourish and came as a force. But at times like this, I don't think it's possible. With the high expectations and competitiveness, time is not a luxury.
