All of Man Utd top players didn't perform well, to me only Fletcher was doing his best. But its so disappointing to see the $30mil dollar striker Berbie just not doing anything, come'on, Rooney was doing all the attacking + defending, while Berbie was just laying one corner.

Tottenham strikers are cursed!! (By Ramos) :p

Robbie Keane *Liverpool* --> Not performing

Dimitrav Berbatov *Man Utd* --> Not performing

After this season is over, both will go back to Totty.

berbatov is a target man..so he must stay up

not doing some defensive work

rooney..tsk tsk tsk..matter of time before fergie drop him

I thought the new CB Evans was doing very well. Considering his age and in-experience... being put into such a big game. I am sure after this game, he would be a regular feature in the first team. Now fergie can have 3 CBs in which he can rotate with seeing how there are so many fixtures in a season.

Most experts aren't...and research is the difference between speculation and investment.

ya la, he can play in those normal matches, but when it comes to the big teams, i dont think he can fit in, cos in chelsea last week, he was out-powerered by drogba so easily. but hey...man utd is gonna start the ball rolling now !

ronaldo scores his first this season.

C.R was so gd in the air. he's timing was superb. i'm not surprised by his goal but expected he will score.

O L E , O L E , O L E , O L E ! cristiano! giggsy! nani!

united winger scored the goals.. the recognition for Tevez was brilliant. he's hunger for goals. he played like a man been possessed. :thumb:

other than Ando, D.Gibson will b the right person to replace the ageing P.Scholes. he likes to shoot frm distance. His movement n passing was gd. n look what we hv here, player like Possebon, Rafael, D.Welbeck, Manucho they played in this game with confidence. these r for the future as expected. but its a pity Rafael brother Fabio nvr featured in this game due to shoulder injury.

i'm sure u guys watch the game n i was so upset by the challenge frm boro defender to Possebon. definitely a straight red card for two footed tackled. the agony Possebon was cried in pain n was stretched out. bloody hell..

Evans is gd enough to break in the first team. but with Vidic n Rio in top form he's gonna b back in the bench waiting for his chance. but i think SAF will played him often.:thumb:

Good news for Possebon

United's medical staff have confirmed that Rodrigo Possebon has not suffered a break after being stretchered off against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

The Brazilian midfielder was in agony following a challenge from Middlesbrough captain Emanuel Pogatetz after an hour of the Reds' 3-1 Carling Cup third round win.

A club spokesperson told ManUtd.com on Wednesday morning: "We can confirm that Rodrigo did not suffer a break to his right leg. He was kept in hospital overnight for observation and to assess whether there was any ligament damage to his knee."

At the moment, however, everyone at the club is just pleased to hear that Possebon's injury is not as serious as it first appeared to be.

Pogatetz apologises for tackle on Possebon

Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz has confirmed he is going to apologise to Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon for the tackle which saw the Brazilian teenager leave the pitch on a stretcher last night.

Possebon needed oxygen before he was taken off in the second half of United's 3-1 Carling Cup win over Middlesbrough following a studs-up challenge from the Boro captain.

Referee Andre Marriner showed the Austria international a straight red card after the incident which provoked a furious reaction from United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who remonstrated with opposite number Gareth Southgate on the touchline.

"Firstly, I have to say that I went for the tackle because I thought I could win the ball - I now accept, however that I misjudged the challenge,'' Pogatetz told the club's official website.

"Immediately after the incident I did not think it was a red card offence because I did win the ball.

"But now I that I have had the chance to see the tackle on television, I know the ref was right to send me off.

"I am going to speak to Rodrigo by telephone and I will apologise for hurting him. I hope that he will make a quick recovery and that he will not be out for long.''

It was initially feared that the challenge had broken Possebon's leg but he was later given the all-clear after spending the night in hospital.

"We can confirm that Rodrigo did not suffer a break to his right leg,'' a United spokesperson told the club's official website.

"He was kept in hospital overnight for observation and to assess whether there was any ligament damage to his knee.''

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson was fuming: 'You don't want to see things like that and I hope I never see anything like it again,' said Ferguson. It is such a pity for the boy and took the gloss off what was a really good performance.

'The thing that gets me about challenges like that is that the opponent always claims he has done nothing wrong. He [Pogatetz] should have just walked off the field. Then you get their bench screaming that it wasn't a sending off and there is nothing wrong with our player.

'At least Gareth Southgate was very good about it. He apologised and understood the gravity. It was an absolutely terrible tackle.'

Southgate branded the challenge 'poor' and admitted members of his bench had stepped out of line.

'A couple of lads on our bench did not have the same view as I did but that is dealt with now,' said Southgate. ''We can have no complaints about the decision. It is difficult to know why it happened. It was an unusual aberration for him because his discipline has improved in the last two years.'

Dude, even Barthez in midfield may be better than him.

I dont know much about Pogatetz's history, but SAF mentioned he has always been doing crazy tackles, so i youtubed him. Apparently he IS insane.. Once he got fed up with the referee's decision (or something) that he grabbed the ball and bit it. That mofo should die lah. I dont accept his apology anyway.

Following tricky trips to Anfield and Stamford Bridge, United welcome Bolton to Old Trafford with a view to starting a steady climb up the Premier League table...

Form guide: Following draws against Villarreal and Chelsea, and a midweek win over Middlesbrough, there are promising signs that the champions are clicking into gear ahead of Bolton's visit. The Trotters are without a win since the opening day of the season, but played very well against Arsenal last weekend and will be fresh for having no midweek Carling Cup action.

Ins and outs: Edwin van der Sar should return after being substituted at Chelsea. Rodrigo Possebon did not suffer a broken leg in Tuesday's win over Boro, but he will still miss this match, as will Michael Carrick and Ben Foster (both ankle). Bolton welcome back Gary Cahill from suspension, while Swedish striker Johan Elmander could return from hamstring trouble and Matt Taylor is aiming to feature after overcoming a foot injury.

Star men: Sir Alex Ferguson has almost a full squad to choose from, but it's likely Cristiano Ronaldo will make his first Premier League start of the season after starting - and scoring - against Boro.

I'll be pretty pissed if SAF decides to drop Tevez for Berba to start again. Carrick wont start so im hoping its Fletcher and Scholes in the middle.

I think United will win 3-0 *crosses fingers*.
