Handle Bar with extra bar over it

Hi bro, I was wondering is there any different where some longer handle bars with an extra bar cramped over it makes any diff? I saw some S4 with longer handle bars and some with an extra short strenghtening bar. Is it cosmetic purpose or it helps in certain ways? Those handle bars are slightly longer thus more difficult to maneuver in jams, right? Cornering improvements? Or more stable? Was thinking of changing to those handle bar but need to change balancer too. Any advise from bros who changed them? Thank you

are you referring to the bar pointed by the red arrow?

If you are, its a stabiliser bar. Its more purposeful if your riding motocross..wat it does is to(like you said) to strengthen the handlebar from the high impacts of motocross riding..for street riding, it cud also help in a way to reduce vibrations to the riders hands. I say here reduce but not eliminate vibrations.

These bars have different bends, sweeps, rise and lengths. It depends on the rider which one they choose, how comfortable u r with the bar.

Due to the usually longer length of these handlebars, u mite hav a lil difficulty, in maneuvering thru traffic at first, but once u get used to it then it'll be ok. Ive seen riders squeezing thru traffic with greatest of ease wit the bars.

Overall, if u wan to talk abt cornering improvements or stability, it all depends on you. You shud get the handlbar which is comfortable for u in ur own riding position. Most ppl are comfortable wit the stock handlebars. Only when u feel comfortable with ur choice of handlebars then ur cornering can improve, and ur ride becomes more stable..Hope it helps and not confuse u more...

Oh yes, another purpose of the stabliser bar, u cud mount a GPS or a handphone holder on it...Talk abt creativity...

Thanks BioMoDiFIed!! Yes, I was referring to those type of handle bar similiar to your pic. My S4 is mounted with a box behind thus will tend to wobble abit more than those without one. S4 original mirrors height are always in the way while squeezing through jam. Just afraid with that longer bar will cause even more problem too

Here's wat i've learnt. longer handlebars gives you stability at high speeds due to the physics, more leverage..Shorter handlebars however offer great squeeze thru advantage but is less stable at high speeds..

i do agree wit u tat S4 stock mirrors r in the way wen squezing thru traffic..but i cud giv u the pro n cons of changing to aftermarket mirrors..

Pro:

Riders(me included) tend to go for more fashionable mirrors thus looks better.

Easier to squeeze thru traffic wit most smaller size mirrors.

Cons:

Smaller mirrors tend to not giv the best of view(especially if big sized lyk me)

The mirror glass it self(most of them) are not concave unlike stock mirrors.

best if u wanna change mirrors, use the scrambler type round mirrors..to me tats the best.

I just order my handle bar stock but red colour from MOTOWORLD.....

Cost me about $110....

Is it the EFFEX CONDITIONINGS, EZ-FIT BAR? You better have a handlebar brace. (Additional $90 at MW) This is because its made of Aluminum. It will flex at times.

if you dun like those small stylo nice mirror, you may want to try the phantom's mirror, the view is not compromise and the height is much shorter.it just looked decent.so far i'm pleased with it. :thumb:

Thanks again, actually I used to have those carbon looked alike mirrors from LAB but changed back to original mirrors for safety reasons (better viewing area). I do agree that after market mirror allows you to sqeeze thru traffic earsier.

Does anybody uses original mirrors after switching to longer bars? Seems like changes to after market mirrors at the same time after changing handle bar.

bike drop w/o the bar brace.. the bar will be more dented than the one with the bar brace..

why i know?

i tested before..

last time bike drop w/o bar brace the bar very obvious it's slant/1side higher..

wif the bar brace.. it's not so obvious it really reduce the impact..

SO.. it's a good item to get for ur bike.. if u love ur bike

rather not....don't want my hp shattered to tiny pieces in e middle of the rd

:giddy:

To make your handphone not to be shattered into pieces in the middle of the road as Bro WingZer0 had said.. hehehe.. You can double secure your handphone using the handphone strap to clip at a secure place.. That is what i have done. You will never get lost anymore.. hehehe.. By the way the Handphone Holder is firm, it wouldn't vibrate.. You can get the Handphone Holder at Mustafa Centre at the level where you can find all the Cars acc..

I saw one bike with that damper near the oil tank but we were parked at traffic light so didn't had any chances to enquire more. Any bro using those damper can share some info? Thank you. I also read those handle bar must drill some hole for the trottle or something. Troublesome if not doing at bike shop
