Don't worry nothing will happen.

Let the car owner get a lawyer to sue you if he is so rich.

Reporting to police or insurance co is useless.

The car insurance company most likely will tell the car owner that it is his own fault for not noticing the debris on the road and ride over it.

Sleep well my friend.

my answer:

- bktan was riding up a slope, helmet falls off without his knowledge

- security guard says he say the helmet and wanted to go pick up which is laying in the middle of the slope

- toyota corolla speed up from bottom of slope and runs over it and supposedly damaged a bit of his bumper

- driver complains to condo management why got debris on the slope

- bktan drives back to condo to look for helmet and sees security guard

- security guard passes bktan back a broken helmet

- condo supervisor takes down my particulars for report of complaint

- bktan doesn't see damage on car cos car drove off already

Actually U shouldn't have given the guards there your particulars. Just ask them for the helmet and leave. If they didn't wanna return it, then fine... it was broken anyway. Ride off.

Oh well....

But since it has bappened, here's what you could do for now...

- Play it cool. Don't worry so much.

- If the driver calls you, simply be calm, cold, and expressionless. Poker-face helps. Trust me, I've been in this kinda situation b4.

- Ask him what time it happened.

- Tell him you left the condo a few minutes before that.

- Tell him the helmet did NOT drop off your bike and strike him immediately, hence it was lying there for some time and he could have avoided it.

- Ask to see the damage to his car

- If he claims that he has fixed the car at $XXX, then tell him "Sorry... without assessment, I'm not gonna pay. And if u cannot assess, insurance will likely reject you. Have a nice day..."

we shall await for the next golden moment when darren open his mouth again...

heeee

bernard, don't worry lah.. think the security guard was just acting only..

think you can makan and act like policeman a bit, asking for your particulars..

like DeusEx said.. you shouldn't have given him your particulars.. he has no right..

in worse scenario, just call the police, if need be, only let the police take down

your particulars..

never to anyone else...

Hi Lass,

So, riding a Kips now eh? :)

Finally succumbed to the seduction of cheap productions parts, low maintainence and low F consumption of the Japanese technology? :cheeky:

Rode a kips before. Sorry, not my kind of sports bike.

Wobbles at 80km/h, feels lighter than a motorised bicycle, and the bike drifts when kena crosswinds. Only thing I liked was the power.

1 thing's for sure, the RS's handling and stability (and Mito's raw power) is somewhat an Italian signature that no other 2B Japanese sport bike can ever hold a candle to. No matter what you do, they will always come up short.

If you wanted a sportier bike, how come you didnt go for an RS125?

:cheeky: :cheeky:

PS: You also not married to the bike, no need to feel guilty about switching bikes. We're all here to learn, share and ride. You're no traitor.....

yep kinda, weight not too heavy for me, RS125 nah, am too short, considering my tuna baby i just tiptoeing.

not really into kips but it's definitely easier for me, might consider switching bk to italian bikes next time....keke but cost a bomb.

my dream 2b bike has always been a mito but these european babies r made for taller ppl....haiz

gee thks for e encouragement. btw wat u riding now?

Well, neither of us know the whole story because bktan didnt elaborate. It could have happened like this:

1) bktan was riding in front of the car.

Both vehicles are ON THE MOVE. the helmet falls off, the car doesnt avoid it, and runs over it.

2) the helmet has already fallen off bktan's bike, and rolled under the car, which is stationary and the driver IS NOT AROUND. He gets into the car later in the day and drives off, running over it.

kebeen, your reasoning fits the 2nd scenario.

My rationale is based on the 1st scenario.

Anyway, this isnt for us to judge...

true...

But I thought it was quite unlikely that the helmet would drop from the back seat if both vehicles were on the move.

I assumed the both vehicles were parked somehow and the car was moving off....

anyway, if the drive could see the helmet n ran over it...

the driver is plain stupid... dunno how to siam ah....

bktan, so wat's the story? interesting...

eh....

Just read the answer.

So anyway, the drive was dumb not to see if it was visible...

however my brother with TP leh, he is telling me that the driver would not have to be responsible for the payment of the helmet...

but it's too stupid to claim on anyside la...

a helmet.....

tough luck bktan... u can get urself a new n better helmet!

lacrimosae.... u win this time.... I'll be back....

We all riding Aprilia... pls dont hold grudge against me!!

I joking only... Dont next time see my bike go kick it over..... :weep:

Lass

Now not riding any bike... Will prob be collecting back my bike end of next week.

Actually the Mito was my first choice too. But due to scarcity of parts, I opted for the curvier RS. how can the Mito and RS be too high for you?

The Mito and RS are similar to the Tuono leh! lol....

You're comparing the saddle height right?

o_O strange that you can ride a Tuono but cant ride RS/Mito....

Have you actually test-ridden them before?

Anyway, have fun with your kips while you can.

Ride carefully.... Its an unstable bike.

I think if you want Italian bike, with low saddle height, you might wanna try the Cagiva Planet?

Though, in my opinion, the Cagiva Planet is the butt-ugliest 2B bike I've ever seen. With a very non-functional seat. (rode before- kept sliding ard)

You're still welcomed to join us for our outings. Dont have to be shy, coz we know your heart is still with Aprilia! :cheer: :cheeky:
