Yeah, come to think of it, it happens usually in gears 1-3 when i'm accelerating, d initial acceleration was alrite, quite linear ie. 2-8k rpm, d moment it passes 9k~10k it suddenly flattens, and d rpm suddenly pulls as if u run out of fuel, and if release d throttle slowly den accelerate again gently it sometimes will let u accelerate pass 10k rpm. i dun rem doing sudden full throttle though. Is it becoz i open throttle too soon? den its no fault of d bike den, bottom line, lack of skills, wahahaha!

Sounds like you're getting interested in tuning... heh heh... Welcome to the club!

For starters, you might want to read up on the following books:

- Two-Stroke Performance Tuning by A Graham Bell

- Motorcycle Tuning 2-Stroke by John Robinson

- The High-Performance Two-Stroke Engine by John Dixon

- Motorcross & Offroad Performance Handbook by Eric Gorr

They will give you a good start on grasping the basics on 2-stroke tuning. If you'd like, you could loan them from me; don't have to buy from Amazon.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Isa, I actually LOLed when I read your question.

Honestly, in the last 5 years of riding my RS125, I've been conducting DIYs for 4 years, and I think the turnout has been 20/300+.

About 10+ persons have shown genuine interest in DIY and turned up; as opposed to 100 or so persons claiming to be interested in DIY but never showed up.

It's hard to generate real interest in the new generation of young boys unwilling to get their hands dirty when they have their maids doing their bidding for them at home.

Also, saving money is the last things on their minds - spending money on a mechanic who knows nothing is more glamorous than saving money doing it yourself.

Plus, not many people have the time to read tuning manuals. All they wanna do is twist a knob and think that that's all there is to 'tuning', like how you do it in PS3, XBox, and Wii.

Bladder, chill... I understand. I work irregular hours too. Most of the time I'm not even in Singapore.

But, as promised, I will try to hold a DIY just for you. Will need your roster to schedule one that coincides with your off day.

Anyway, I'm not sore about people not showing up. I like to DIY alone. It gives me some peace and quiet; and if I screw-up (and my engine explodes), there's no one around to know!

I open my DIY to all to help riders learn more about their bikes to help save money.

My only peeve is that people who don't know anything but think they do (by sucking off and swallowing the bullshit that their so-called mechanics stuff down their throats with their d*cks, sorry i meant spoonfeed them) and perpetuate the common misconceptions, making it harder for people to accept the facts.

I just don't like to repeat myself, spending most of the time debunking myths, when we should be discussing new ideas. Time is precious to me, you know.

I'm always OFF on Mondays so yeah.. Apart from that it's either I finish work at 6.30pm or 10.00PM

The few things I'm mainly concern about on my ride would be the shocks (rear shock is a goner), wheel alignment, carb jetting (suprisingly my spark plug is lightly toasted brown kinda color) which is somewhat good I suppose?

Rear shock is by Sachs, and usually wont last. Even at 55kg, and I never take passengers, I have busted 2 brand new stock shocks. In the end, got fed up and bought an aftermarket WP, which is rebuildable, and it's still going strong. Stock shocks don't last, but they aren't cheap either - S$400 apiece I think. Instead of replacing them constantly at 400 bucks a pop, why not just get an aftermarket monoshock?

Ohlins, Penske, Matris, WP, Wilbur, Bitubo etc.

Wheel alignment I can't help you.

Carb jetting! My favourite. heh heh..... *rubs hands in glee*

Did you say lightly toasted brown? Mmmmmm... That's my favourite color too!

It should also be dry. Light brown in the best color- the perfect burn!

I am currently a little rich so am working towards your color. It takes time and patience and many spark plugs. :p

First-Ever Cross Threads Outing

Introduction:

It had always been a practice in sbf for each thread to organise their own outings and gatherings.

And it hit upon me that instead of keeping to one thread/one make of bike, why not widen our circles and meet riders of similar interest?

As a first attempt to organise a cross-threads outing, we are inviting riders of all make, types, classes of bikes, with the link posted in krr150, nsr150sp/rr, tzm150, cbr150, babymitto, rs125, r125, nsr250, rs250, babyblade, rvf400, gsxr400, zx4, m2b threads; covering most 2b/a sportsbikes.

Main objective of this gathering/outing is for riders of different threads to meet each other, widening friendships, and have fun! =)

Althought link is posted only in above mentioned threads, feel free to invite friends who are riding other bikes as well.

Once again emphasizing this is an open-to-all-bikes event.

Event:

Event: Cross-Threads Outing

Date: 18th April 2009

Time: 2200 HRS onwards

Venue: TBA

Duration: 2-4 Hours (free to go/join at any point of time)

Destinations:

From past experiences, we decided to keep exact locations unknown to all first.

Activities would be late dinner/supper, followed by riding to a nice scenic popular hangout for couples, before punching card at that well know place for engines.

It will be on a saturday's night, and we will be expecting quite a big turn-up. Thus all hot-spots would be avoided, in our routes and destinations. Time on hot-roads will be minimized. Special parking place will be allocated. To minimize risk, card-punching would be the last destination; as late as possible.
